Stay the night
[Amy’s POV]
I’ve had a daily routine since I began sophomore year yet I was so determined to make my sophomore year different than my boring freshman year. Instead, it’s exactly the same. I’d wake up & go to school. I’d get home from school and immediately get on Netflix and watch chick flicks. Sometimes I’d stay after school so I could get away from my family for a couple of hours. Like today, I decided to stay after school for two hours reading books in the library. It’s the only place I get peace and quiet. At home, there is always constant arguing especially with my annoying step-sister. Once the time struck 6, I got my bag and started heading home because I still had to clean my room, or I’d be in trouble. It was a sunny day, so I decided to stop by yogurt land and buy myself a frozen yogurt with all my favorite toppings.
As I paid the cashier, and grabbed my frozen yogurt, I turned around and found myself crashing and bumping into a girl causing my yogurt and bag to fall out of my hand and onto the ground. After a few seconds of looking down at the mess, a sweet young voice spoke.
”I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking were I was going.” She said apologetic.
I looked up and noticed she had light brown curled hair, with beautiful glowing brown eyes. She had a cute black skirt and a white blouse with black high heels on. She left me breathless. She looked around the same age as me. Why haven’t I seen her around school? I quickly tried to find my words and responded, ”It’s fine, I can buy myself another one.” I smiled at her as a sign of that she was forgiven. Then I quickly picked up my bag up off the ground and before I knew it, a worker had already started to clean up the mess.
”No! Wait, let me buy it for you. Let me make it up to you.” She insisted.
How could I say no? I could tell she felt bad. So I accepted. She bought me another frozen yogurt and one for herself, and then she tipped the worker for his troubles. She seems so kind, I actually didn’t want to just leave and stay as strangers with one memory.
