DCL 7 – In The Wind
Washington, D.C.
The name that keeps coming up is “Cobblepott.” Somehow the transactions trace back to him. Her name is Sandra McLane and she is with the Secret Service. Investigating the mysterious woman known as Tigress had led Sandra through her investigation to Gotham City. Soon, she will be looking at a short plane ride to the troubled city. For this morning, there is a momentary joy in waking up in her bed and seeing her wife, Sally feeding milk to their child, a daughter named Sara Lou. Sandra closes her eyes and amidst all of the investigating and trouble she knows is sure to face as it goes deeper, she still finds herself thankful to be living in what she feels is a true golden age.
The weather is pure sunshine outside.

The weather is fierce with lightning in this Eastern Kansas town, a twin city of Central City, Missouri just across the Missouri River. Her name is Carrie and this moment is meant to be the end of a long night of work in her laboratory. She looks outside the window, seeing the storm rage outside before turning her attention back to what appears to be a treadmill of epic proportions. There is data analysis and more work to be done. It is to be the ultimate in testing one’s endurance. In biker shorts and a tank top she prepares to run some more, feeling the energy burning inside of her. There is no time to stop. She can hear the storm raging ever louder outside as the winds pick up. She continues to run. Her body is attached to various wiring, all looking to collect more data that transfers to different monitors for Carrie to observe.
The window shatters. Carrie Allen never sees it coming. In that moment however, she sees so much at once that it is almost too much to comprehend.
She feels the lightning shoot through her. She feels shards of glass flying at her. She feels a rush of energy. She feels a surge of power. She feels a Force shoot through her being. She sees everything at once. She sees her parents working in this same lab. She sees herself as a child, playing innocently while also watching Mom and Dad continuing to experiment on technical innovations. She sees herself back before Midnight, still crunching numbers. She sees herself, only different now. She sees a world in vibration.
