    Frozen Beginnings – Chapter seven

Tina swallowed another large swig of her drink. The burning had lasted and she struggled to not wince at the fiery trail which took another decidedly slow path through her oesophagus.

To gather some countenance, she proceeded to take off her shoes, taking a seat across from the brunette. She was in her home after all and if she chose to do so she would make herself as comfortable as she could. No need this time to ask for permission, Bette was now her guest for however long. The shoe was on the other foot as it were!

She leaned forward to place her glass on the table. Tried as she may, she really did not relish alcohol at all and in her haste, she had chosen rather poorly when she had opted for the strongest drink available. Her hand shook perceptibly as she settled her glass.

Crossing her arms on her chest quickly to hide the little tremor and leaning back she asked, “What are you really doing here? Why have you kept my work and more importantly what have you told my father?”

Bette cocked her head remaining impossibly collected. “Which question would you like me to answer first?”

“It doesn’t really matter. All I want is for you to give me a believable answer before you leave this house and my life for ever.”

“I have not divulged anything to your father about you and me.” Bette replied calmly after a moment of silence.

“You and me?” Tina exclaimed, “There is no you and me.”

“Ok..” Bette tempered, “If you prefer, I have not told your father how you have flirted with me and how you have unashamedly satisfied your curiosity.”

Tina clenched her teeth and looked nervously over her shoulder. She had spoken rather loudly and feared for a moment that her father may have heard her.

Bette noticed her move. “You have nothing to fear… It will remain our secret… for now!”

For now! Was this Bette’s backup plan if whatever it was that had brought her here in the first place did not come to fruition?

A sudden flush of panic took Tina over.

“If you have come here to blackmail me…” She whispered loudly.

“What if I have?” Bette smirked coolly, “What would you do?”

    1. Eight pages leaving your readers, as usual, just wanting more!
Great writing of our two characters in this intriguing storyline.
Another chapter of these two being ‘professional’ soon please Kins. It is so good to have you back.

    2. One of the best stories I’ve read on here lately. I enjoy the drawn out, push/pull relationship, hopefully leading to a climax (pun intended). Who needs to rush into a relationship, anyways! Keep up the good work!

    3. This was an interesting chapter. It was good to learn more about Bette background.
I admit but not exactly what I expected this chapter regarding.
but I’m still a big fan of this story and look forward to the next chapter.

    4. Yet another great chapter, good on you! You have written these characters very well and that’s not an easy task. I would be pissed too if I was Tina, her father and Bette did go behind her back and I feel like Bette should at some point apologize for that. Pls post soon and feel free to post more than 8 pages!;)

    5. Kins my dear friend you never fail to impress.

Eight pages of another great chapter..

Tina not wanting to agree with anything Bette offers her.

Backing down in her own way by putting their relationship on a professional footing. To me Bette

always seems to have the upper hand but in a subtle way.

Still no closer to knowing what Bette does as a profession.

Kins you always leave us wanting more.

Looking forward eagerly to your next chapter.PPS….C.xx

    6. What happens next? Next chapter please… Bette arrogance can be quite amusing but I hope it melts away. The sarcasm in her can be quite hurtful to someone who genuinely likes her…Hope Tina feels less cheated after a while. It’s awful to feel like a fool. First eric(Eric is such a bastard) and now Bette not being fully honest from the start. It’s hard to trust people after a while. Can’t wait to read how Tina shapes up in this story
