    Sandra of the Secret Service

    Gavonia, the United States Embassy.

Agent McLane waits patiently inside a conference room.  She has already spoken with the U.S. Ambassador to Gavonia and this meeting is only a matter of time.  She goes over the plan in her mind as she sits at the conference table.  How to approach the situation.  How to make sure Queen Yonda will be on board with assisting.  What to do if Yonda no-shows and it is left to an intermediary instead.

The door opens the room.  Royal guards, one by one enter the room until Yonda of Gavonia herself appears.  Sandra looks at the guards as Yonda stands, waiting for her seat to be pulled from the table by one of the guards.  With the seat pulled, Yonda now sits down, nodding at the guard.  The guard, along with the others that entered now exit.

Yonda “Welcome to Gavonia, Miss McLane.  I’ve been told about your arrival and your purpose.”

Sandra “Yes.  We have a situation involving possible money laundering through various banks here in your country.”

Yonda “A country that is out of your jurisdiction, you understand.”

    Sandra “Yes, I-”

Yonda “And may I remind you that as a sovereign nation that has broken no international laws, we remain committed to protecting those who do legal business here.”

Sandra “We have reason to believe that you’re dealing with something less legal.”

Yonda “Tell me, Miss McLane…  In the United States…these…heroes that fly about.  How much of that is a legend of creation?”

    Sandra “Excuse me?”

Yonda “I see these wonderful stories about women named Superwoman and Wonder Woman…Green Lantern…some mysterious figure known as the Huntress.  There appear to have been so many in just the past year that it intrigues me greatly.”

    Sandra “I’m afraid I don’t understand what you’re asking.”

Yonda “I am proud to be the leader of this nation.  I am proud that there are people who look up to me.  In America…do they look up to your President or to a caped crusader?  Are these wondrous beings a new way of showing the world how much better you are than the rest of us?”

    Sandra shakes her head.

Sandra “I don’t even know where to begin with that.”
