Adventure #3
In The Black
Agent Coeval did not have time for figuring out Nightwing and Robin and what their motives were for getting involved. She had two main concerns, those being the rescue of Steve Carson and Dot Larry. On her way back to Washington, D.C. from Gotham City, she knew that Carson had Kate Lane in federal custody now while Detective Montoya of the G.C.P.D. was now more concerned with tracking down the “Caped Crusaders.”
Gail meanwhile had Dot with her.
Gail “Why did you run away?”
Dot “I didn’t trust them. It’s hard for me to trust anyone.”
She did not like the orphanage system. Her childhood had been troubling and the adults in her life had left her behind. Still a teenager, Dot did not trust the adults in the room. Now, things had gotten even worse with an adult trying to kidnap and sell her off.
Gail “I need you to tell me what happened.”
Dot “I said I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Gail “I’m gonna need you to. And don’t worry. I’m taking you somewhere safe this time. I’ll straighten it out with the Bureau. I have a contact. She’s kind of a myth to the people who don’t know her. But I do.
Dot “What, you’re gonna drop me off at Superwoman’s?”
Gail “Not quite. But she may be the next best thing when it comes to protection.”
The Fall of Camelot
Somewhere in another dimension.
Camelot.
Centuries ago, it was a land whose natives had somehow managed to reach across cosmological lines and inspire the writings and arts depicting them. Though they were one territory able to do this, they were not alone. It is an Earth that is different. It is an Earth known simply as Camelot. Whatever their legends were in other realms they had no control over.
Other realms may speak of how their story ended, but here in this world, there is an ending that has just took place. They were all pitted against one another. Trust became a scarce resource and ultimately none of it would matter.
She lay in the rubble near a river. Bodies are scattered about, including two atop her. Both are male and both, as dead as the rest. One was her husband. Another was a man she had once loved dearly, despite the marriage. Both were gone. Nearby is a man who had once schemed to try and win her heart for purposes of power attainment. He was as dead as the others.
