    Redemption – Chapter 64 part 6

    “Hey Al it’s Tina.”

    “Hey Tina, what’s up?”

“I’m calling to see how you’re doing? I wanted to make sure that you’re OK.”

    “Why wouldn’t I be? I’m fine.”

“I had lunch with Tasha today. Why didn’t you tell us that you and she broke up?”

“I didn’t think anyone would care. You’ve all been treating me like a pariah ever since that thing with Jenny’s book.”

“That’s not true Al. You’re the one that backed away from us. We had a difference of opinion and supported Jenny. That doesn’t mean that we don’t care about what happens to you. So what happened with Tasha?”

    “Didn’t she tell you?”

“You know how closed mouth she is. I had to drag it out of her when I asked why you weren’t here with her.”

“Wasn’t it obvious that she’s with Jamie now?”

“It wasn’t obvious until she told me Al. I guess she expected that you would have said something.”

“I’m sorry Tina. I don’t want to talk about another of my failed relationships. How’s Bette doing by the way?”

Tina knew better than to push Alice to talk so she took the hint.

“She’s tired a lot as you might imagine carrying twins, but the babies are doing great.”

“No more complications with Baby B?”

“We’re scheduled for her 20 week ultrasound in two weeks. Dr. Padilla will be checking for any congenital abnormalities but there are no indications that either one’s well-being is endangered. We might even be able to tell if we are having boys or girls or one of each.”

“I still can’t wrap my head around Bette being pregnant and with twins no less.”

“She’s been truly amazing throughout Al. She has this inner glow that’s almost angelic. She’s so beautiful that I find myself just staring at her in wonderment sometimes. I swear you wouldn’t recognize her; she’s so calm and peaceful now. She refuses to get stressed about anything and it certainly helps having her family close by. Maxine and Greg are beside themselves. It’s even more exciting that Greg and Cole’s baby will be born just a few weeks before our two. Maxine and Peggy dote on her making sure she has everything she needs. They’ve really been a tremendous comfort to me as well. It’s so wonderful having grandmother’s around to give maternal advice and of course Bette has Isabella to commiserate with. Bette and I missed out on so much joy with my pregnancies that we’re not missing a moment of sharing this one.”

      • cellphone48 – thank you for always commenting. Has it stopped raining where you are? Glad to hear you had a day off, sounds like your work schedule is grueling sometimes. Take care of yourself.

    1. WHEW!! Thought for sure HELENA was coming home in a casket but by your grace and mercy she didn’t.ALICE on the other hand needs to realize that TINA means what she said about not putting herself or BETTE in the clutches of HELENA again,no matter if she is friends with her.ALICE can’t keep her mouth shut, her girlfriend, her nose out of other people business so i’m wondering can she keep time? This dinner is going to be an eyeopener for JACKSON,another homophobe TINA/BETTE will have to deal with, brother or not.thanks

      • dunnthat Tina has her priorities straight so neither Alice or Jack or anyone else will ever come between her and Bette’s relationship. Remember this is the redemption phase of the story and homophobic Jack will need to decide what he values most. I think Tina has had enough heartbreak. Not to give away too much but rest assured he is going to bring joy not grief to their lives.

    2. Still here BAT :-)

Thanks for ”redeeming’ Helena just a little and also for the wonderful Grandmothers in the background. Big part of family life Grans are you know :-) Perhaps your wonderful imagination could find an eccentric Great Gran somewhere in the world for the Epilogue !!!

Still loving this story and look forward each day to your posts. Even forgiven this little cliff hanger.

      • SassyGran so wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for sticking with me. I’m working on ideas for the epilogue so I may be able to come up with a Great Gran. PM me if you have some suggestions. I could use the help. :-)

    3. Every time i wake up, i look at my phone if there is a notification that you have posted a update. And yes, there is always one. Sadly i can’t always read them straightaway, i work early and night shifts and at the moment early shifts, so i have to wait for a break or after my shift, but good God, i am gonna miss the almost daily updates from you!

Their family is expanding again, can’t imagine that Jack will turn his sister down.

Good talk between Tina and Alice, Tina made it very clear that nothing will become between her and Bette, hope that Alice see the light and is gonna making efforts to rekindle her friendship with Bette and the rest.

      Thanks for the update!

      • BIbi28 – thank you for being so loyal. I know lives get busy so I appreciate whenever you have time to read and comment. I think Jack will be a nice addition to the family. I’d love for Tina to reconnect with her estranged sister and dad too; maybe even a Great Gran for the kids … more to come.

    4. Alice went away with a lot. In the story, I think she really pushed her luck. How Peggy looks after her daughter has nothing to do with her. I know she loves Helena but she cannot say she loves her more than her own mother. So Alice can pack it in already.

I think Alice should go to therapy too :-).

Now Champ that is not a good place to finish the chapter, that was mean :-).
I look forward to see what happen between Tina and her brother. Maybe this will make him more tolerant toward gay military personnels
