Healing a Sequal to The Plot

    Chapter 14

Alice and Candace had found Helena’s office and proceeded to work their way through her files.  At first they were frustrated in that everything seemed to be legitimate work related files.  It was only when Candace pulled out a little case from her back hip pocket that they found the mother lode.

Candace pulled a pick like tool and went to work on the lock to the desk credenza.  Alice looks up from the sleek looking filing cabinet that was off to the side of the office.  Alice has enjoyed being a busy body and fingering her way through different reports on the Peabody Foundation.  From what she could see the Foundation has a broad reach as it looks to be involved in a lot of different areas, art, children’s after school programs, research in human behavior patterns, trucking, beverage distribution, trash hauling and antiquity importers.

Standing up, “Candace can you believe all the shit the Peabody Foundation’s in?  I mean if I didn’t know better I’d say I’m looking at Tony Soprano’s file cabinet.”

At Alice’s first words she got Candace to look her way.  “Pieszecki quit messing around.  We’re here to find out anything about Bette.  Come over here I think I finally found the right file.”

Alice quickly pushed the cabinet shut and hustled over to Candace.  What she sees is a huge expandable folder stuffed full.  “Fuckin A do you think there is enough stuff in there?”

“I don’t know but let’s get busy we don’t have all day.” Candace reminds Alice.  She didn’t want to be here when Helena returned.

Candace pulls the file out and opens it up.  The first thing she notices is the folded up sheet of paper in the front of a series of labeled files.  Pulling it out Candace unfolds the sheet and spreads it out on the top of Helena’s desk.  It’s huge.  Candace takes her hands and runs them over the page, smoothing out all the wrinkles.  When she’s done she leaves her hands on either side of the sheet.  This leaves her hunched over the page as she starts her examination.  It takes her a minute to understand just what’s she’s looking it.  But the moment she gets that it’s the map of Helena’s deception towards Bette she immediately pulls out her phone and starts snapping pictures.  The page is huge and the whole thing doesn’t fit in one picture.  Making it a series of pictures that overlap Candace ends up snapping three pictures.  This thing is a huge map including time lines, activities and people.

    1. Oh. My. God. Tina NEEDS to figure out that Bette is jonesing and can barely put 2 thoughts together. As for the BEAT DOWN? I vote for jail AND mother’s wrath. And not the nice Dusty jail from Season 5….I want her in pain. This Helena is a total, skanky WHACK job!! Great story!! We need moreee!!

    2. Scary, Tina needs to know that Bette is freaking out. Kit needs to set Tina straight, well not straight but explain that Bette is literally on drugs. Help is on the way in the most unlikely duo of Alice and Candace.

    3. Ugh, I feel so bad for Bette. She is really struggling here. Hopefully Tina will be able to figure out what’s going on and go after her. She needs help withdrawing from the drugs that her body has become addicted to. They need to take care of that issue before dealing with Helena.

    4. Oh man! Excellent update and love your writing. I could feel all that Bette was feeling. I hope Tina figures it out quickly and doesn’t leave and go back to Helena’s. thank you for this wonderful story.

    5. Hey JWet, Firstly it is wonderful to have you back posting this monster melodrama on the site.Secondly, I just adore how you have this fantastical plot against Bette balanced perfectly alongside the harsh reality of Bette’s withdrawal from pills and booze while Tina, now aware of the plot, attempts to right the wrongs of her past behavior and actions.I can understand Tina’s desire to use Helena’s plot as a tool to motivate Bette into getting back everything that Helena has taken from her or destroyed. Trouble is that addiction is a disease that robs you of all mental ability to rationalize and think for yourself. The need to get high is the only focus of Bette’s being right now. This has to be dealt with before Bette can face dealing with Helena.Question is how much does Bette want to stop using? If yes, then she needs to enter a program or go cold turkey with her family and friends support. This mean constant supervision and containment, if required. Her body has to purge itself of these toxins before her mind can clear. Then comes the more difficult step of the emotional craving for oblivion. Bette is strong willed and still will need professional help to overcome her drug dependency. If no, then the mountain becomes that much steeper and higher. Compulsory containment in a drug rehabilitation facility is the only option.Tina has to realize the longer term effects for Bette before they can move forward. Also, Tina has to stay close to Helena to discover what Helena’s next moves are without endangering herself. There will be very difficult choices to be made in the future.Alice and Candace are doing a great job of gathering much needed evidence against Helena. Perhaps this could be used to shake Bette from her stupor and begin to fight back.JWet, it is testament to your great abilities that this tale provokes so much discussion. Life is complicated with highs and lows. It is the lives that we touch that make us who we are. Bette deserves so happiness and I hope can rekindle her relationship with Tina while Helena gets her just desserts. As ever I will be waiting eagerly for your continuation. My thanks seems so inadequate a response but is meant whole-heartedly.Your Loyal Fan and Friend.
