    Alice & Tasha: Sapphos Cariad

Tasha was gone. It had now been three in a half months since she left for deployment. Three in a half months down and three more to go. For Alice some days went by rather quickly while the others dragged. She had her good days where she was energetic remaining positive about Tashas return home. Other days her mind was continuously plagued with the horrific images of the war played out on every national news channel known to mankind. She knew that watching the war coverage on television was causing her more harm than good but she couldn’t help it. Matters of the war had taken a turn for the worse. Innocent civilians were being killed, taken captive, and tortured. The number of U.S fatalities also drastically increased. Many service men and women were returning home with severe permanent injuries. Since the war had taken a turn for the worse Alice wanted to keep herself informed about what was going on as much as possible even if that meant staying up at night consumed with worry.

Tashas scheduled varied. Due to military operations and missions sometimes days would go by without Alice receiving an email from her, in terms of not communicating with one another at all two weeks at the most. When it was authorized Tasha tried to call as much as possible she knew Alice needed to hear her voice just as much as she needed to hear hers. The phone conversations were always short due to time constraints but always well worth it. Not being able to communicate at all was worse than death itself and it always resulted in Alice assuming the worse. Due to operational security Tasha couldn’t disclosed what was actually going on but she always made sure to put Alices mind at ease before ending their phone calls. To also keep her head clear of negative thoughts Alice tried to keep herself busy as much as possible.

It was early Saturday morning and the day seemed promising. On the schedule for today a meeting with Max to discuss the chart website, a hair appointment with Shane, movie night with Angelica, and a late night Skype chat with Tasha. Max was coming by in a few hours to discuss the website and then to cut the grass. Tasha wanted to take care of the lawn maintenance before she left. She wanted to hire a gardener but thought against it as she didn’t want complete strangers having access to the house with Alice and Angelica alone by themselves. Max one day over hearing Tasha discussing the lawn maintenance took offense that he wasn’t asked to do it. Tasha agreed and offered to pay Max who declined. Tasha was thankful for that especially since she knew it would be a cold day in hell before Alice allowed any dirt to touch her manicured hands. Alice wanted to hire a gardener but Tasha wasn’t hearing it especially since Alice would have choose the most expensive one. When it came to finances Tasha was the frugal one while Alice had no qualms about spending money. What often bothered Alice was the fact that they weren’t hurting in the financial department at all. Her website was extremely successful and when Jenny passed (and after a lengthy court battle) she was able to regain the rights to her treatment the script Jenny generously stole right from under her. Tasha was still in the military but ran two successful car maintenance auto body & repair schools. At her schools people were able to enroll and learn valuable skills in repairing vehicles. But Tasha who could have a million dollars in the bank would still be tight with money it’s just who she was. With Alice, every penny that greased her palm she spent. Again, they were just different that way.
