“Remember when we were little girls how we would read those fairy tales where the princess would meet and marry the handsome prince?”

“We would often have dreams of our prince charming after reading those stories.”

“Yes but dreams change and we outgrow fairy tales.”

Kelly Wentworth smiled indulgently at Tina’s declaration. This was her third time standing up as maid of honor for her oldest and dearest friend and each time they’d had a similar conversation just before the wedding. The first Prince Charming was Eric Peters, an entertainment lawyer. That marriage lasted five years. The second time around Tina took her vows with a graphics designer named Henry Young. This was also Henry’s second marriage and he had shared custody of his six year old son Mikey with his first wife. That union only lasted three years. Then there was the fling with a hot film producer named Josh Becker, but fortunately that one didn’t end in marriage. Each one had promised to be the dream she’d been hoping for, yet each had ended badly.

Regrettably not having followed her lawyer’s advice to have these men sign prenuptial agreements the heiress of the arts and entertainment conglomerate Kennard Incorporated paid dearly for her mistakes. Both her ex-husbands had received hefty financial settlements after the divorces. Now she was about to embark on her third marriage; this time to her lesbian lover Jodi Lerner.
