”What if she wants to….I don’t know…..raise pigs?”
Bette and Shane looked at Alice as though she had lost her mind.
”Raise pigs?” Bette asked with a raised eyebrow.
”It’s just an example,” Alice said, rolling her eyes.
”A ridiculous example,” Bette said with a smile.
”You never know. So?” Alice asked petulantly.
”Alice, I think I can safely say that my daughter will not want to be a pig farmer,” Bette explained pleasantly.
”Agreed, but what if?
Bette put her coffee cup down and looked at Alice. ”Alice, if my daughter, for reasons passing my understanding, decides that her passion in this life is to raise swine, I will be quite proud. I just won’t be able to visit her at her office.”
Alice narrowed her eyes and stared at Bette. ”Bullshit!”
”Alice, leave her alone,” Shane jumped in.
”Shane, you don’t honestly believe that Bette will let her only daughter–”
”I believe what Bette said.”
”Thank you, Shane.”
”You’re welcome.”
”Whatever. I don’t believe it for a minute.”
”Don’t believe what?” Kit asked as she approached the table and sat down.
”That Bette would let Angelica be a pig farmer,” Alice said simply.
”A pig farmer?” Kit asked.
”It’s just an example,” Alice said emphatically.
”A ridiculous example,” Shane said, winking at Bette.
”Does Angelica love pig farming in this example?” Kit asked, giving the matter some thought.
”Yes, she does,” Bette confirmed.
Kit nodded. ”Then Bette will buy Angelica her first pig.”
”You’re buying Angelica a pig?” Helena asked as she pulled up a chair.
Bette looked around the restaurant and called out, ”Would anyone else like to join the conversation?”
Shane smirked at Alice and said, ”Angelica wants to be a pig farmer.”
Helena frowned. ”She’s not even two years old.”
”It’s just an example,” Alice cried, exasperated.
”A ridiculous example,” Helena said with a look of distaste.
Bette looked at Alice and stuck out her tongue. ”What she said.”
”So why does Angelica want to raise pigs?” Helena asked.
”It’s her passion,” Shane said flatly.
”She’s passionate about pigs?” Helena asked, trying to wrap her mind around the thought. ”Actual pigs or pigs like Wilbur and Babe?”
”Helena, the question on the table is: If Angelica should choose to be a ’pig farmer’, would I allow it?” Bette clarified.

Even though I do not like stories when Tibette is apart I enjoyed this and would certainly read any more of your posts.

Thank you. Funny, I seem drawn to the angst of B and T being separated but not done.

This is a really great grabber start! Angie the pig farmer! How cute. I agree with Kit, if Angie wanted to be a pig farmer, Bette would buy her the first pig. Bette may not be pleased with Angie’s decision, but she would support her in anyway she could….
Love to see more. Thanks for this.

Kdoc,
I’m prepared to allow creative preference to your being drawn to the “angst between B&T”, but will surely chuckle every time I think of Angie being a pig farmer ???????????? especially at only two years old ????.
Bette may have to give in to her lawyer proclavity and start running a pig farmer tab to be sent to Tina if she persists in her foolishness with Henry ????????
