Round n Round We Go (Ch.22)

    Chapter twenty-two

The ambulance finally rushed through the morning jam and made it to the entrance of St. Christopher Hospital.

Dr. Lee was the one that waited for them. He took notes while the paramedics got the patient on a gurney and pushed her inside of a checking room. He asked for the name.

    “Bette Porter you say?”

    “Yes, doc.”

“The, Bette Porter?” He leaned in closer and took a close look at the young woman. “Take her to the VIP ward, and page chief, he knows who to call. Oh, and nurse, hold off the press, if there’s any.”

Bette, even dizzy and sick in her stomach being pushed around, still had to scold at the male doctor. “Not a fucking VIP ward…” She sighed. Everyone was making such a big deal when they met her, which would feel so much better in a restaurant or a hotel, but in a hospital, it just pained her more with the possibility of how serious her illness was.

The doctor paused a little, and led the gurney to the other direction. He wouldn’t want to cross a very important patient, even if her wish was to not be in the VIP room.

Probably because the saline solution was working its magic, Tina felt the hand in hers was not burning as it was before. And it seemed that Bette had accepted the option of being in St. Christopher, lying very quietly and watching people around with much more calmness. She knew the woman could pull it together, and it gave her much comfort beyond words.

Within ten minutes, the nurses helped them settle in a single room, not VIP, but pretty secluded as well, and they took care of the cut on her brow. But the patient wouldn’t let them help her with the hospital gown. So with a bit of struggle, Tina changed her, and tucked her in.

An elderly African American woman in white coat was quick to arrive. She stood at the end of the bed and exchanged some words with Dr. Lee, who was happy to take his hands off the case. The woman hadn’t had a name tag on. But by the familiar posture of her stance, and the way she inquired the nurses, Bette, even she couldn’t see the woman’s face clearly, knew it was Dr. Wilson, the neurosurgeon that once treated her mother.

    1. Author:

I couldn’t imagine to have any more supporters than I do on this site. It’s just overwhelming, in a good way. You have all been so good and encouraging. And I’m no longer bothered by the rating, so I’m leaving it on. There’s just enjoyment to write and post.

shoutout to: mscully, BOP, wkm, Bibi28, SassyGran, mamadoc91, pinky3001, bettporterjb, tibettenation1, scribe, didi1956, lipitora, kingg, CobbSalad, ut, and majicspider60. Thank you very much! I always respond to comments right after I post a new chapter.

And for the World Cup fans, I can’t say I’m not shocked to see the game between Brazil and Germany. I even shed tears at the end of it. But don’t be discouraged, it’s just one game and it can neither deny the glory, or the future of this wonderful team. So, hopefully, it’ll still be a great game with Holland.
And as for the champion, I am a fan of the Argentina’s, and I find Messi very cute. :)

      Peace

    2. Yeah, a update, i’m so glad Bette will be allright and doesn’t have that terrible disease.

And i am very pleased that you are going to continue with writing more of this story, they need happy times.

As for the World Cup, i am from Holland and i hope they will win from Brazilië.

As for the final, i will go for Argentina.

      Thanks for the update.

      • Awww, congratulations on the victory. And so sad that Argentina didn’t win the cup eventually. But it had been a great season!

More happy times for Bette and Tina! Please continue to read and comment! :)

    3. Worth waiting for but had trouble with my Contact Lenses again – seem to keep making my eyes tearful! Couldn’t possibly be your story could it?
Can we now have Bette back healthy and romantic with her wonderful Tina – please?
I’m with mamadoc91, any chance of continuing ‘The Lucky One’?
Being English I’m not commenting of the World Cup!!

      • Hahahaha, it was a good sign that you keep tearing up. I admit I was counting on that.
And yes to continuing the Lucky One. I’d love to keep the story alive, but after we changed to this site, I thought a lot of readers had forgotten about that story.
Now that I know you haven’t. I’ll try to post more chapters on that one.
Thank you, and hope you’ll enjoy more.

    4. Thank you so much despite the busy schedule of world cup you managed to post before the final.
Indeed another amazing chapter, Bette finally declaring her love again to Tina…. looking forward for the renewal of their vows , honeymoon , another baby perhaps…
      Good luck in FIFA .

    5. Excellent My heart is at peace knowing that
our dear bette does not have the illness of his mother.
I approve you make this long story, I hope it lasts
some 200 chapters, because their fans will be grateful, wort.
I love the way you write this story.
      Congratulations!!

(Now as the World Cup: it’s kinda hard to say in words
feeling that hit us in Brazil, never on 100 years of
Cup lost that way, do not know if you can understand me
how was humiliating we take x 7 1 without at least our players
fight on, as was the game of Holland and Argentina who fought until the last minute. will take
long time to heal this wound.
It is very difficult trying esplicar this sense of defeat because we love football, and
especially for me I’ve been a soccer player (not professional) who also
dreams of one day seeing our women’s team win a world one day …
      I’ll cheer for Germany.
Bibi28 the best man win (today) bjs for everyone!

      • Wow, 200 chapters… I’d love to write hundreds and thousands of chapters just for Bette and Tina. But that’s a little bit difficult to achieve, isn’t it.
        I’ll try, nevertheless :)

Ahhh, it’s still been a great season for football fans. I cheer for Brazil and Germany, and Holland, and Argentina. Great game!
Bjs… is that beijos? I don’t know much Portuguese but I read a lot Paulo Coelho, and I’ve learned Spanish, found them both very beautiful languages. :)

    6. Omg please tell me theres about to be another wedding, and im soooo happy Bette was ok. So much has happen between these two that it seems they never get a break one thing after another smh..hopefully.good times ahead..but I also agree you should definitely update the Lucky One that was also a good story…great chapter!

      • Yes, I believe the wedding is coming our way!

Since lots of my readers have brought up the Lucky One, I actually feel more obligated to continue plotting on that one. So, after this story is finished, I’ll return to it!

Thanks for reading and commenting. xoxo

    7. Just started reading this story when ch. 21 was posted, then went back and read from the beginning. Forgot that I did read the beginning chapter and maybe the second one. At any rate I read every chapter and I truly love this story. Happy that you will write more of the story and they do need to have more happiness together as a couple and as parents to Angelo. Bette needs the time to show Tina just how much she loves her and has missed her so much, even though she tried to pretend that she did not. Thanks for posting.

      • You’re absolutely right. They both have suffered a lot for their mistakes and I believe that all the suffering only bring them closer in the end.
Now it’s time to be happy. And maybe more kids? I’m thinking about lots of options here.
        :)

    8. I’m so glad that Bette’s disease is not serious. the scene in the hospital until has been investigated her, it was so much fun. the drugged Bette very funny. I wonder what Tina told her to lie still? ;)
I’m really glad that the small debate quickly resolved between them. I hope that was only good things will happen to them.
I like all the others: I want more from this story so many chapters! :-)

      • Oh hey, I got your PM, thank you very much!
You’ll find out what Tina told her, guaranteed something good btw :p
That’s very sweet that you want this story to last. And I’ll try in the according time to write more.
Thanks again. Hope you like the next chapter. xoxo
