Tell Me Something Good – Chapter 31

    Previously…

Alice looked at her watch. “I hope that’s not Bette trying to get a quick kiss from you.” Alice walked to the door and opened it. “Bette…you bett…”

“It’s me, Al.” Shane entered the suite. “Bette’s ride left about ten minutes ago, but before she left with Kit, she wanted me to tell you that she loves you.” Shane walked over to Angie and Tina. “Your carriage awaits you.” Tina took hold of Angie’s hand. She glanced around the room to make sure she had everything she needed. She was to meet the photographer downstairs in the lobby after she had finished with Bette and Kit. “Ready, sweetie?” She looked down at her daughter.

“Ready, Mommy.” Angie looked up at her mother.

    Chapter 31

The horse-drawn carriage stopped near the entrance of the Boathouse inside Central Park. The driver jumped from his seat and helped Bette and Kit from the carriage. “I don’t usually comment on how my passengers look, but you are a very beautiful woman. There is a glow about you that is indescribable.” The driver turned to Kit winked. “And you’re not so bad yourself.” The driver smiled and climbed his rig, but not before tipping his cap to Bette and Kit. They looked at each other and laughed.

“Well, that was weird.” Bette laughed.

“What’s so weird about it? You were turning heads as we made our way here. There is a glow about you and you seem so at peace.”

“I am Kit. I can’t wait to marry her.” Bette linked her arm through her sister’s. “Come on…the manager is on his way and I want to make myself pretty for Tina.”

    ————–

“Mommy, how come all these people are looking at us?” Angie asked. She was seated between her mom and Shane with Alice and Dana sitting opposite them.

“Because you are the most beautiful girl they have ever seen.” Tina smiled down at her daughter.  “Are you excited to walk down the aisle?” Angie nodded her head. “I can’t wait until Mama sees you. Are we almost there?”

    “Almost sweetie.”

“Angie, would you like to sit on my lap so you can wave to people?” Shane asked the little girl.

    1. I have to admit…I ducked in for a read (which I rarely do – time is at a premium you understand) and I haven’t been reading your story in the past. Having said that, this chapter was super fun and romantic and lovely and made me smile. It would appear I have to backtrack quite a few chapters. I look forward to doing that! A mellow weekend ahead should allow for the opportunity. Thanks for taking the time to write!

    2. Wonderful chapter, lovely wedding. The wedding was lovely and you described it perfectly. So happy they were able to reconnect and get married all over again. And Angie is a very lucky and loved little girl. Thanks for posting.

    3. you post too quick and I don’t get the chance to turn around and read let alone comment! but that was perfectly lovely and soft and loving and …all things sugary and spice…which is what girls are made out off …right? thanks T… good start to the weekend! xx K
