Tina was awakened by the bedside alarm at 5:30am. She hit the snooze button and settled in for 15 more minutes before she had to get out of bed. She turned to face the woman that lay snuggled up against her back with her arms thrown over her waist. She kissed Bette gently on the lips not wanting to wake her but just appreciating the beauty that was her partner. Bette smiled in her sleep and snuggled even closer.
The night before they’d celebrated their first Valentine’s Day with a wonderfully romantic dinner prepared by Bette. They acknowledged the day with traditional gifts befitting a couple that had only been together for a little over six months. Bette sent flowers and Tina’s favorite gourmet chocolates to the studio and Tina brought home a rare wine and flowers for Bette.
Their lovemaking was intense and reminiscent of earlier days in the relationship. Afterwards they’d lain naked in the bed with their legs and arms entwined as they held each other close. It felt so natural for them to be in this house, in this bedroom, in this bed together. At times like this Tina had no doubts that this was where she belonged and who she belonged with for the rest of her life but there were other times when she just wasn’t sure. There was still so much to work through. They’d already sacrificed and compromised and bridged a lot of their differences to stay together but was their love enough to sustain them?
Tina gave Bette a peck on the cheek, un-wrapped her arms and got out of the bed. She used the bathroom and changed into running clothes. She put on a light sweat shirt then went into the nursery to look in on Alex. He was still sleeping but she could tell by his movements that he would soon awaken. She tiptoed out of the room; grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, her iPod, cell phone and house keys from the table by the front door and headed out.
Tina loved the solitude that running afforded her. Mostly she would just let her thoughts run free but if she had anything weighing heavily on her mind she used this alone time to sort it out. This morning her mind drifted to thoughts of Kate Arden. Since she’d been made to work with Kate on an almost daily basis for the past several months she knew that what she was experiencing on the job could only be construed as sexual harassment yet she continued to accept Kate’s behavior towards her. Tina showed hostility towards Francesca and Bette’s close purely platonic relationship which bore absolutely no threat to them as a couple while at the same time tolerating the advances of a predatory lesbian that was aggressively pursuing her as a sexual conquest.

Uh, oh. Both separated for weeks by thousands of miles. Certainly not ideal w/Tina being so vulnerable and Kate being so predatory. Couldn’t Peggy Peabody take Kate down a notch or two or three?
Great update. Completely hate the kate character and do so wish Tina would talk to Peggy or someone about that gum chewing witch. She really needscto tell Bette the truth about what is going on before she takes herself to Canada. Surely someone can take this woman down and make her stop the harassment because the studio can be sued to high heaven and that is certainly something Peggy would never condone. If she knew about it, kate and her benefactor would be out on their ear. Btw, who is kates’ benefactor? Great update. Thanks for posting.

Tina is playing stupid with this dangerous situation,risking her relationship with Bette.
She really needs to talk to Bette and Peggy,document the sexual harassement by recording Kate’s advances,and get the lawyers to review Kate’s contract in order to find any clause that could be used to terminate it,before she goes to Canada.

it seems the previous chapter was really just a tiny flake. it seems that things start to go in the right direction …
I would like to know as much as I don’t understand the motivation Tina.
I don’t understand why she tolerated, and the excuse that Kate is good for the studio financially explanation is not good enough to tolerate sexual harassment!
because, Tina knows that trouble and not say to her partner (which basically shaking the depth of their relationship) or the boss, who could do something.
I really don’t understand why Tina leave that to happen.
Now wasn’t the hearing of this subject the woman she loves ??????
I can only hope that there will be one more sexual violence in this story!
I agree with everyone over here. Everytime Tina and Bette take one step forward in their relationship they end up taking two steps back??
