    Twisted Triangles ch. 42

    “Let her go Eric.”

“Stay out of this Bette. None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you.”

“You always have to pick a fight with her, don’t you?” Tina yelled from her own front porch.

    “What?” Eric asked more confused.

“Just….don’t bother, ok? Leave her out of this for once.”

“Fine….can I come over so we can at least talk about this?”

“No, you can’t.” I’m going out to meet Shane!”

    “Tina…wait.”

    Chapter 42 – BETTE”S POV

“Unbelievable” were the words that came out of my mouth as soon as I looked over at Eric. Tina had stormed over to her place after Eric had provoked her into a fight. He of course blamed me for the whole thing, but I just got home and ran into them at the walk way to the house. Before I even got inside the house, they were already back out and fighting. I’m not sure what happened. But I know I can’t stay here.

When I got into the house I headed for my room to change. When I got inside, Alice was sitting on my bed, waiting.

“Quite the doozy, right?” she asks.

“No kidding.” I respond. I throw my bag down in a nearby chair and sigh.

“What happened out there? What did he see?” Alice asks.

“I haven’t the faintest idea.” I respond to Alice while staring into my closet. I really don’t know what happened between seeing them happy then fighting.

“Eric said he saw a spark or something. That mean anything to you?”

I sigh and throw my forward to the clothes hanging in front of me. I can’t say that didn’t happen. But it’s not something that I can help. And I’m certainly not doing it on purpose. “Not that I know of, Alice. I cannot possibly be expected to know what’s in his mind.” I respond. I can’t tell Alice everything that is racing in my mind until I know what it means myself.

“Fair enough. What you up to this evening? You going over to see the ‘Mistress of Dramatica’? She’s been over like 3 times.”

“No, I’m going for a drive, maybe to the beach. I need to do some thinking. And I’d like to get there before it gets dark, so if you don’t mind.” I motion towards the door for her to leave so that I can change.
