All The Lovely Ships!
Lost Girl 1.2
If you are on this site, chances are it’s because you’re a member of a fandom. If not, that’s okay, if you stay long enough I promise you will become part of one of these amazing fandoms that celebrates many of our favorite female couplings on television. It’s woånderful to have a place where we can all gather and analyze every single detail of what happens to our favorite characters
Fans are so passionate about the characters and their ships that there are even fan polls on various sites that allow fandoms to compete against one another. One thing for certain, lesbians are a loyal and passionate group that are very vocal in these polls often pushing same-sex ships to the higher rounds. Glee and Lost Girl recently fought tooth and nail in The Geekiary poll. Last week the annual Zimbio couples poll featured LostGirl’s Doccubus in the final round. It truly is amazing how the internet has been able to bring us all together to fight over which slash couple is the best, to share ridiculous meme’s and even music videos of the characters we connect with.
Seeing as how this is a Lost Girl column, I get to share my love of this community with you and maybe, just maybe, give you a reason to hop on board a ship, or two, or three. First of all, Lost Girl fans, as well as the cast and crew, are amazingly friendly and welcoming. I never expected to have so much fun, or to chat with people around the world about my love for a show. I was so inspired by a particular coupling that I even dove into the world of fanfiction.
On this show, if you’re an F/F lover, this is the place for you. Whether you love them or hate them, there’s not many of the couplings that haven’t been given at least a moment of glory by the writers to whip fans into a frenzy. Let me just say, that while I am a staunch Doccubus supporter and loyal Lauren lover, I actually enjoy the fact that the show is willing to ‘just go there’ and by there, I mean everywhere and anywhere.
Do you like sailing? Let’s take a moment to explore the vast expanse of LG ships:
*SPOLIER ALERT: Mentions of previous four seasons below. Also, I will apologize in advance if I left anyone out, or missed a ship name.
Bo/Lauren- The amazing chemistry of the good ship Doccubus has made this the largest following on the show. The on again, off again, couple of human Dr. Lauren Lewis and Succubus Bo Dennis has had more than its share of troubles as one would expect with a human trying to satiate a chi sucking super being. Despite the love triangle with wolf shifter Dyson, the hotness of the encounters these ladies have given us has been enough to fuel this ship to a perennial fan poll favorite.
Tamsin/Bo– Tamsin’s chi seems to get Bo cranked up to eleven. The powerful Valkyrie with questionable intentions that seemingly has a change of heart regarding Bo have shared a several powerful moments of their own, not to mention a kick ass Valkubus fight scene at the end of season three.
Tamsin/Lauren- Put the pitchforks away! This one really seems to upset the masses. As far as the show is concerned, Cop/Doc hasn’t happened…yet, despite the doctor having an encounter with just about everyone in the cast in season four. One can only imagine what the writers have in store for us all in season five.
Kenz/Tamsin- Aka Theiverye, this pair has become more of a motherly love in season four while Tamsin goes through her rebirth. They teamed up for some fantastic comedic moments including a dance off, dance off. (Will and Grace joke)
Kenz/Lauren- Sure, it was Bo’s hallucination in season one, but Lauren and Kenzi gave us an amazing lip lock worthy of daydreams.
Lauren/Evony- The fans dubbed them Levony as season four offered up a friendly beer and pizza indulging Morrigan with a newly empowered and determined dark Lauren resulting in a rather interesting end. This ship also tends to be a bit volatile.
Amber/Crystal- Amber, aka Dr. Lauren Lewis, gifted us with a hot and heavy hook up during her time hiding out with guest star Ali Liebert in season four. Their steaminess left many hoping for a return of the blonde Bomb Girl to heal the doc’s ailing heart.
Bo/Kenzi- The crime investigating Fae/human duo are well known for getting into trouble and always having one another’s back. While purely platonic BFF’s, Benzi did share a nice lip lock as a cover to smuggle something into Bo while she was in jail. The sisterly chemistry of these two characters comes through in spades in the season four finale.
Bo/Evony- These two have not been short on innuendo in their scenes together. What else would you expect between two, strong, sexually dominant characters? Bo does get the best of the Morrigan with a seduction scene that leaves the Morrigan hot, bothered and all tied up.
Ladies, that’s just the Femslash on the show. If you add the guys the list is nearly double. With this many possibilities to root for, or against from week to week, what are you waiting for? Feels like a Lost Girl marathon night to me! There’s plenty of time to catch up with all four seasons before the writer’s take us on another wild ride this fall.
So, which ship do you sail on?
