I have come to win your folks – (Chapter: Chapter One)

    Chapter One

Ashley got out of her car, humming a tune to herself. Her body rocked in sync to the music blaring out of her iPod. She absently knocked against a girl.

“Hey you!” The girl shot her a glare.

“I’m sorry.” Ashley gave her a contrite glance and continued walking. The girl’s irritation turned to surprise. Ashley Davies never told anyone sorry. Even if it was her fault. What the hell was happening?

Ashley literally hopped instead of walked across the school ground. Her enthusiastic gait wasn’t lost on those who saw her come in. She was used to being the center of attention wherever she went. If it wasn’t because of her enigmatic presence then it was usually because of the controversies that surrounded her like the air she breathed. This was why she didn’t notice the bewildered looks on people as they saw her walk with a smile and bunny steps.

“Ash!” A tall dark-haired boy stood right in front of Ashley.

“Aiden!” Ashley gave him a wide smile and removed her earbuds. “What’s up?”

“That is what I should be asking you.” He gave her a sly look. “Are you aware that the entire school is wondering about this new Ashley?”

“Huh? What?” The girl looked confused. Following Aiden’s cue, she turned around and saw the expression on people’s faces.

“God! What’s with people forever speculating what’s going on with me? Don’t they have a life?” Ashley shook her head.

“Yeah… but not half as interesting as yours. So what is going on?” Aiden stepped beside Ashley as they walked inside the building.

    “Nothing. I am just happy.”

“I thought you and happiness parted ways like a long time ago.” Aiden frowned.

“Yeah, but we made up.” Ashley swung her arms with glee.

    “Right.”

“Hey guys!” A female voice came up from behind their backs. The two turned to face a smiling blonde.

“Spencer!” Aiden and Ashley greeted in unison.

Spencer hardly noticed the hunky boy in front of her. She looked at Ashley who had the most mischievous glint in her brown eyes. She blushed and lowered her gaze. This widened Ashley’s grin.

“So… where are you going?” Aiden asked after a brief moment of awkward silence.

“Oh… err… class.” Spencer cleared her throat.
