The Guild – (Chapter: reunited at last)

    The Guild

    Reunited at last.

Ashley set out alone into her hometown, everything looked the same as it did before she left. The houses were all the same color, every flower in the same spot. She walked through the town and saw the same people and animals. Further into the town was a steep hill in which her old home was. She slowly walked up the hill remembering the times when she would hold races with her friends to see who could roll down the hill the fastest. She walked up the steps cautiously and knocked quietly. "Hello, can I come in?" she asked the old man that answered the door.

    "Who are you?"

    "It’s me, Ashley."

    "Who?"

"Ashley, your daughter that you forgot about."

"Come on in." he said dully. Her home had the same familiar scent of pumpkins and cinnamon, she walked further into the house and saw her mother cooking. "Amber, some stranger is here and she says that she’s our daughter." he yelled.

"What? I couldn’t-" she stopped in the doorway awestruck to see her daughter.

"Hi, mom. Did you miss me?"

    "Is it really you?"

"Yeah. It’s the same old me." Ashley and her mother started to cry at the sight of each other. Her mother ran over to her and embraced her in a hug so tight that any man would feel pain. All of Ashley’s emotions poured out in one moment. "How could you forget about me? I was your daughter, I even sent you letters!"

"I’m sorry Ashley but somebody from the guild told us that you had been killed in training. We never got any of your letters."

    "Who told you this?"

"The tall blonde haired man. His name was Lion something."

    "Lionheart?"

"Yeah, that’s it. Would you like something to eat?"

"I’d love to but, I left my friend Spencer at camp. I have to get back before she notices that I’m gone."

"Your father can go get her," she turned to Ashley’s dad. "Won’t you Alex."

"Yes." he sighed. Ashley and her mom talked about everything that had happened in the years that they haven’t seen each other. They mostly talked about the times when Ashley was young. Then there was a knock at the door.
