    Chapter 19

The first rays of sunlight found Bette sitting down at the kitchen’s rather big isle. The agent seemed deep in thought, like lost in an alternative reality, one in which she wasn’t an FBI agent assigned to the personal custody of the most beautiful woman she had ever met.

For the first time in her, well, entire life Bette felt lost for she didn’t know how to interact with the blonde anymore. She had never been so attracted and captivated with a woman before and it was a scary feeling, not to mention the fact that she was there to protect that marvelous creature. Tina’s well-being was her responsibility ergo she wasn’t there to fall for the one person she had to be most objective about. And yet, Bette felt that for the first time in her life she was heading towards that direction.

Right in that moment the gorgeous blonde that had kept Bette awake for a good part of her night made her entrance in the kitchen, looking more beautiful if it was at all possible.

“Good morning Bette” The blonde shyly smiled as she noticed a certain change in the brunette’s expression when their eyes met.

“Good… morning… Tina” Bette hesitated around a woman for the first time in her life.

“How did you sleep?” Tina asked as she was pouring herself some of the coffee the agent had made. Damn… this woman can surely make coffee, this stuff is sooo good… and god… how can she look so freaking adorable in the morning?

“Ahmm… fine, and you?” Bette replied trying seriously hard to compose herself. Don’t be an idiot Porter… you were doing so well… but really? REALLY?! Why oh why must she torture me like this? Doesn’t she know how gorgeous she is, and especially in mornings?

“I slept very well, thank you” Tina lied miserably.

“Glad to hear… that… now if you’ll excuse me… I have to… go get… ready” Bette could just not stop herself, she was feeling truly awkward and helpless at the moment so she knew she had to flee that kitchen before she kept on making a fool of herself.

Why do I keep on scaring her off? I mean yesterday everything was so… she was so… perfect… I bet is my face in the morning, I could scare Darth Vader off… damn! Tina was struggling with her thoughts as she took a seat at that very same isle the agent was sitting at barely minutes before.
