    Torn

    2 weeks later:

Waiting patiently in the cafe Cat was fidgeting with the
menu placed on the table. Sam sat in an opposite booth not knowing if she could
look Frankie in the eye, cat suggested maybe this was indeed a more suitable
    seating arrangement.

Frankie was running late as usual and Cat started to
think she may not show. Having only spoken briefly to meet they hadn’t spoken in
    over 6 months.

Strolling through the door with such hurry Cat’s eyes met
with the one she had obviously missed. But it wasn’t for the fact she had lost a
love it was more she lost a long time friend.

Cat took in her appearance, noting that she wore more presentable attire and oddly it suited the blonde. The
once short scraggy hair had grown a little making Frankie’s face appear more
feminine. Cat couldn’t deny she was attracted to this new profound
look. Sharing an awkward greeting Frankie took a seat opposite Cat.

“I’m surprised you called. I mean you’ve dropped off the face of the
Earth for the past 7 months. No one but Ed’s really heard from you. I was
worried when you just up and left like that… Without a word”. Cat reacted to
the blondes words almost as simultaneously as she had watched her say them.

“Well Frankie sounds pretty much close to home if you ask me”. Cat
seethed through her words, how could just a few sentences strung together could
    evoke such anger and torment.

Frankie pushed her back into the cushion the seat provided, having not been fully prepared for Cat’s belittling tone. But
she understood that reply had only been fair. Before the blonde was able to
reply the brunette cut in, “Let’s just forget that its not why I’m here. We need
to resolve this situation, I think we’ve left it long enough.”

Cat shook her head as she could sense that Sam would be just as much on edge as she
    was.

“Talk about what that you chose the cop over me?”. Frankie’s
sarcastic tone only made Cat worse, simply confirming this would always be the
    behaviour of the blonde.

“What we had was a mistake you and I both know it. I… I wanted my friend that I missed so much back and beyond all this drama
and facade you put up for everyone I see the real you. You’re not ready for a
relationship let’s face it. You only wanted me because I was with Sam. Someone
that seemed like a challenge; a conquest even. And you succeeded and now I’m
left picking up the prices.” Cat chose her words carefully knowing that Sam was
    within earshot.
