Here Comes Drama
We decided not to press charges against Eric. Even though what he did was terrible and irresponsible, we wanted him to have his job when he got out of rehab. We did however file a restraining order. He was not to come within three hundred feet of us. We also protested his custody rights in court and won, Eric was not to have visitation without a social worker present.
”Momma, when can I see dad again,” Jackson asked at breakfast a couple months later.
”Um, when dad gets back from his trip,” Tina said.
”Are you ready to get to school buddy,” I asked, diverting the conversation.
”Yeah B, I am ready!”
He hopped off his chair and ran to his room to grab his backpack. I offered Tina a smile, she didn’t like talking about Eric, but he was Jack’s father and we’re gonna have to put up with him. He had written us a couple letters since he went in for treatment. He apologized and asked forgiveness for what he did.
”Let’s go B,” he shouted at me and I smiled. I got up and kissed Tina.
”Babe, don’t forget Jackson’s parent teacher conference at two.”
”Don’t worry love, I’ll be there.”
I dropped Jackson off at his school and I went to class. I had two lectures before the meeting at Jackson’s school, and a lab after. I was taking notes in my second lecture when I felt a pair of eyes on me, staring at me from across the room. I didn’t look because I didn’t want to call attention the the fact I was aware someone was looking at me. After a while, I shifted my eyes to the left and caught a glimpse of who was staring, she was a young blonde with piercing blue eyes and ruby red lips. I felt myself go red as she caught my gaze.
The professor gave us our assignment on our research paper, and we packed up to leave. I checked my watch, I had enough time to get to Jackson’s school. I hurridly shoved everything into my bag when I saw someone walk up to me and stop. I really don’t need this right now. I thought and looked up. It was her, that girl who stares.
