Thoughts of the impending election surging through the brunette’s mind as she lay there and stared at the ceiling. Had she done enough to win? Or had she done too much damage to win.
On the one hand, she so deeply wanted to win to make this commitment to Kit real and meaningful. Bette wanted to bring changes to the medical system and how intake information is actually retrieved and processed. But she knew that was a long term process and perhaps years in litigation with the medical system, hospital administrations and state and federal governments. This would probably take much longer than a 4 year term period as mayor.
Then thinking back to all the missteps along this campaign trail. Her impulsiveness and poor judgement in starting the affair with Felicity was a huge mistake. Deep in her soul, she knew better, but gave into her weakness and threw caution to the wind once again. Those impulses dooming her good intentions once again.
Was she trying to self – destruct? Was she intentionally trying to derail her campaign? Did she think she deserved to lose despite her wanting to win for Kit because she stupidly fell into this affair with Felicity? Did she feel she deserved to lose because of the divorce? Tina hadn’t out and out blamed the brunette when she walked away, but Bette knew she shared some of the blame. It takes 2 in a marriage to make it work or not.
Fuck, it would all come to an end today – one way or the other.
She and Tina would be at her local voting location early this morning so that Bette could provide a short interview to the media. Bette had actually cast her own vote as had her key staff members at the beginning of early voting in the city, so she would not be actually voting this morning. She and Dani expected the local media to be there to speak with Bette and wanting to get an update from the candidate on her view of her chances of winning. She and Tina would be meeting Dani at the site and Dani would be assisting with many of those media questions. Pierce would be manning the campaign office during the day and commanding operations from there.
