    Chapter 39 – Moving Weekend

Tina woke up at 4:30. She estimated that she and Bette had were in the bed and asleep before 8 the previous night. The bed even though a little smaller than the king size bed they had been sleeping on was very comfortable and provided the support their tired bodies needed for a good night’s sleep. Tina got out of bed and went to the bathroom. She had turned on the lights in order to get Bette stirring. It was early but they had been asleep for more than 8 hours. Tina noticed that Bette was not waking up as she had hoped so she turned on the television and put on a news channel. She also turned on a few more lights. She went over to Bette’s side of the bed and kissed her and encouraged her to wake up. She was headed to the kitchen to prepare them some breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

Bette began to stir noticing the noise coming from the television and the lights. She also smelled coffee and food. She got up and went to the bathroom and began to get ready for the day. After she had dressed, she gathered the dirty clothes and put them in the laundry basket. She then went to the closet to get the overnight bag and packed up her shower bag and grabbed Tina’s shower bag and put the bag next to the door. She then decided to make up the bed and put it away. She decided not to strip the sheets because they may need the bed again tonight. She finished off her bottle of water and then turned off the television and put the remote on the coffee table. She then went to join Tina in the kitchen.

Tina set the breakfast on the table and was pouring Bette some coffee.

Tina:  Morning sweetie.  Did you sleep okay?

Bette:  I slept very well. I don’t remember much about last night. Once you got into the bed, I was gone.

Tina:  Yep, that’s about the way it happened. Well, we slept 8 hours plus. Now, we need to go to the store and do some shopping. Then we need to get that put away before Charlie and his guys get there.
