Bette stood up and walked out the bedroom and walked downstairs and took in the woman she was going to marry in three days. Tina was moving her jacket, revealing the shirt she was wearing. Bette just took in Tina. Tina’s hair looked like she’d been running her fingers through it. The stress of the wedding and work were getting to Tina but Bette wanted to make it perfect for her.
“How was your day?” Bette asked as she opened her arms and Tina walked into them, they kissed softly before Tina lay her head on Bette’s shoulder, feeling Bette’s hands cradling her head.
“I’ve put out one too many fires today.”
“That good eh?” Bette asked as she brushed her lips against Tina’s temple.
“Let’s just say I’m glad I’m out of the office of the next two weeks.”
“I’m glad you are too,”
“And why would that be?” Tina asked, not moving out of Bette’s arms. there was something very special about being in Bette’s arms. feeling her, smelling her, being this close to her. from the very start of their relationship being in Bette’s arms had made her feel safe. There was a power in Bette that made her feel safe, wanted and loved.
“Because, Ti, in three days we will be married again. Starting this chapter of our life together.” Bette smiled as Tina lifted her head.
“I love you,” Tina whispered, her voice catching in her throat.
“I love you too,” Bette replied gently kissing Tina’s lips.
“I hate to ask, do I have time for a shower before our flight?”
“We have an hour before the car arrives, so yes, go and shower, put some comfortable travel clothes on,”
Tina nodded before finally letting go of Bette, picking up her jacket she headed upstairs. Bette watched as Tina took the stairs slowly, it sometimes worried her that Tina walked a little slower or took stairs a little slower. Yet Bette was very aware it wasn’t age, it was pain. Pain that Tina lived with day in day out and never once complained about. She just got on with it. It had shocked Bette to learn that Tina lived with it, every day she was learning new stuff about her wife-to-be.
Tina stepped into the shower, letting the water fall over her. she put her head back letting the hot water fall over her body. She was aching after being on her feet for most of the day she closed her eyes. She reached out an took her shower gel, cleaning her body, letting her body relax. She washed, before stepping out and wrapping herself in a massive bath towel. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her face now void of makeup.
“You’re beautiful,” Bette’s voice floated from the door and Tina turned and looked at her.
“Really?” She asked, Bette walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her, holding her close. She turned Tina back to the mirror and kissed her bare shoulder.
“Yes, really. You’re sexy, funny, charming. But most of all you beautiful, inside and out.”
“Even without any make up and fresh out of the shower,”
“Even then,” Bette smiled, kissing her neck. “Dry off and I’ll take the cases down stairs.
“B,” Bette turned and looked at Tina again.
“Thank you,” Tina said the words softly, causing Bette to grin.
Bette’s smile got bright as she shook her head. she simply turned and started to move their cases down stairs. Tina dried her body, before dressing simply in cream pants and a shirt. Slipping her feet into a comfortable pair of trainers. She put her hair up in a messy bun, not really caring. She knew that Bette loved no matter what. They had both seen each other at their worst as well as their best. She then opened the draw next to her side of the bed and took out a piece of paper. The paper that contained her vows to Bette. she put it into her purse an then picked it up.
“Ti, the car is here,” Bette voice came from downstairs.
“Coming Babe,” Tina yelled back, looking around her bedroom, she shut of the light knowing that she would be coming back in two weeks a married woman.
