“What?” Lexi asked with raised brows, “what the hell are you talking about?”
“This,” Tina gestured to a black box.
Confused even more, Lexi walked up to Tina and took the black box from her hand. “What’s in it?”
“Just tell me it isn’t human…”
Lexi opened the black box and almost dropped it. “Ken…”
“Is it?” Tina whispered.
Lexi looked up at Tina, then back inside the box. “Follow…” she whispered back as she turned to head towards her office down the hallway.
Tina followed the brunette into a newly lit room. She watched Lexi place the black box on a slab and grabbed a pair of latex gloves from one of the drawers.
“You’re gonna tell me why the hell you have a bloody heart in a box?” Lexi asked, picking up the heart and putting it on the table.
“Nope,” Tina answered as she continued to watch Lexi’s movements.
Lexi turned around at the response… “no?”
Tina shook her head and nodded towards it, “examine.”
Lexi rolled her eyes and flicked a high definition light on. “You are one mysterious woman…”
Tina smiled lightly and noticed her phone buzzing. “Excuse me for a sec.”
Lexi nodded and went back to looking at the heart on the table. “Kennard…what the hell did you get yourself into?”
“Hey,” Tina spoke into the phone as she closed Lexi’s office door.
“Hey?” Bette questioned… “Where the hell are you? You said you would be a minute, then I went out into the living room and you’re nowhere to be seen!”
“Fuck…” Tina muttered to herself. She knew this was how Bette was going to react, but she didn’t have a comeback. “Look, I had to run out for a bit. I’ll be home soon.”
“Where did you go?” Bette asked the blonde again.
Tina, biting her upper lip, “I had to handle something…”
“At midnight?” Bette questioned, unconvinced by Tina’s answer.
“It was…urgent,” Tina said, squeezing her eyes shut. “I’ll be home soon.”
Tina flipped her phone shut and walked back into Lexi’s office. Forgive me.
Lexi looked up at the blonde, then pointed towards the heart on the table. “Pig.”
“Huh?” Tina asked confused.
“It’s a pig’s heart,” Lexi said walking towards the blonde, taking off her latex gloves. “You wanna explain to me why you are carrying around a pig’s heart?”
