“Madison, look at me,” Tina said, turning to face the younger blonde. “They don’t know how that bus flipped and they will never find the actual reason, but they know it wasn’t an accident.”
Madison leaned back, taking a hit of the cigarette before getting up from the table.
“Honey,” Tina said, grabbing the woman’s hand.
Turning around, Madison brushed away a tear as she avoided the glances of the other women.
“I will protect you,” Tina said, lifting the blonde’s chin to gain eye contact. “I may not have protected Chloe and I will carry that the rest of my life, but I won’t let it happen again.”
Fiona felt her phone buzzing to see Phyllis calling. Getting up from the table, she rested a hand on Madison’s shoulder. “We will protect this coven.”
Madison nodded before watching the Matriarch walk away.
“Finish your breakfast,” Tina said, pulling the blonde to sit back down. “You need to eat.”
“I’m not that hungry,” Madison muttered, picking up the fork and sticking it into a piece of sausage.
“Eat a little bit, then,” Tina said, getting up from the table. “I’m going to take a shower- I smell like a bar.”
The three girls nodded as they watched the Headmistress leave the dining room.
“Ah… a normal day in the coven,” Gabby said, laughing as Addy started to levitate all the food on the table.
French Quarter: 3 P.M.
“Thank fucking God that’s over,” Bette said, sitting down in a chair and grabbing the menu.
“Uh oh,” Alice said, laughing slightly. “Bitchy artist?”
“She was terrible,” Bette shook her head, “amazing artwork… but her personality was a piece of shit.”
“That was your only meeting today, right?” Alice asked, sipping on her lemonade as she watched Bette skim the menu.
“Yeah,” Bette nodded, “I don’t have to see her again until next month.”
“What’s happening tomorrow? You’re free, right?”
Bette shook her head, “I was until I spotted an artist painting near the Voodoo museum. Tina talked me into going over to him- we’re going out to lunch to discuss showing his work.”
“Tina made you go over to him?” Alice asked, a small smile appearing on her face.
Bette bit her lip and nodded, “yeah… I didn’t want to because we were together, but she said she saw a look on my face and said it was fine if I went over.”
