Bette slowly made her way into the large kitchen, she’d been in her study. She grinned when she saw Tina moving around the kitchen in one of Bette’s shirts, she was making breakfast.
“Everything okay?” Tina asked her ponytail whipping around as she turned her head to acknowledge that Bette had walked in,
“Yeah sorry. It was my daily meeting with my Senior Staff, even on a Saturday I have to run our great nation.” Bette said as she took a seat at the large wooden kitchen table.
“I understand,” Tina smiled. “Coffee is brewing. I’m just making us some eggs and bacon.”
“You’re treating me very well,”
“I always treat my partners well,” Tina said off hand. As she poured Bette a cup of coffee and bought it to her.
Bette reached out and took Tina’s hand to stop her walking away, Tina turned and looked into Bette’s dark eyes.
“You see me as your partner,” Bette whispered. Her thumb moving over the back of Tina’s hand.
“Bette, we spent most of this morning making love, we weren’t fucking or just having sex we were making love to each other what does that tell you?”
“That you have deep feeling for me and can see past the job that I do,”
“Bette I’m falling in love with you. but at the same time I’m waiting for my heart to be broken again” Tina whispered.
Bette’s heart broke a little at the words
“You think I will break your heart,”
“Every relationship I’ve been in has ended with my heart broken Bette.”
“I will never do that too you,”
“You cannot promise me that,”
“Tina, listen to me.” Bette said, “I’m not a woman who goes into a relationship lightly. For ten years Vicky was my life. She cheated on me and that broke me. I would never want to inflict that on someone. Last night was the first time I’ve had sex in three years and the first time I’ve made love in even longer. I want to explore this. but I do not intend to break your heart.”
“Wow that’s some speech,” Tina replied, wiping a tear away.
