Tina comes bursting into the gallery dressed to the nines. She anxiously looks around for Bette, but her panic increases when she can’t locate the beautiful brunette. Noticing the many eyes on her due to her abrupt entrance, she tries to calm herself, so she doesn’t make a scene – especially if Bette turns out to be okay – during such an important night. She begins to make her way through the crowd toward the back of the gallery to Bette’s office, consciously reminding herself to walk and not run. She can see down the hall that Bette’s office door is open with the light on. She begins to breathe easy as she makes her way closer, certain Bette is safe inside. Meanwhile, when Shane notices Tina’s presence, reality hits her and she too makes her way towards Bette’s office wanting to check on her friend and inform Tina of what occurred a mere five minutes ago.
Candace takes note of Shane’s disengagement and pursuit of the blonde. She turns to Alice.
”Who’s that Alice? The blonde that Shane is following.”
Alice follows Candace’s indication and rolls her eyes.
”That’s Tina, Bette’s latest obsession and future victim. She seems like a smart girl, so how can she be so stupid? How can she not see who Bette really is?”
Renewed malice enters Candace’s eyes. Never one to pass up the opportunity to bring more hurt, devastation, and chaos to a situation she grabs Alice’s hand and begins leading them back toward Bette’s office. Alice stops their movement confused.
”What are you doing? Why are we going back there?”
Knowing that she needs to break Bette down to the desperate, insecure, and scared mess that she was in order to get her back to New York – while keeping Alice in her corner – Candace smiles sweetly as she brings her free hand up to caress Alice’s cheek.
”I think it’s our responsibility to warn Tina directly about Bette. You saw her in there, she’s still in denial and trying to play the victim. Who knows what story she’ll tell Tina to keep her under her spell.”
Candace looks down briefly as she musters up a few more crocodile tears.
”I would hate for what happened to me to happen to Tina. Didn’t you say she’s some movie executive? Imagine how much more she has to lose being in the public eye like that.”
