    Spencer was starting to think she might make a good carpenter. She was getting so familiar with wood grain, having stood in front of various of Ashley’s doors for way too long. Of course, this was technically her own door in her own house, but Ashley was still behind it.

     

    She hadn’t intended on standing outside of Ashley’s room. Her wooden frame had needed forcing but she’d intended on going to bed. To lie on her back and stare at the ceiling and wonder what the hell she was going to do with herself. She’d been so damn close to running after Ashley and grabbing her, making them face whatever it was that was now going on between them. Then her phone had vibrated off the coffee table and she’d instinctively picked it up. A message. The word “Gray” flashed out at her from the dynamic screen on the back and her whole body had gone wired.

     

    Could she do anything to make this better? When did her life get so fucking complicated? How could she even think of starting a relationship when she had so many distractions in her life? This was crazy!

     

    And yet, Spencer couldn’t pass Ashley’s door. She was rooted to the spot outside, her breathing uneven and her hand half raised, ready to push the handle down and go in. Her insides were tormented. Her outsides were tormented. She was in turmoil dammit. So what now?

     

    It was like lightening to her brain, a quick zap that burned its way through and left her stunned and aching. On auto-pilot, finally in the control of her deep inner Spencer, the one that secretly wanted to go skinny dipping, she opened the door to Ashley’s room and stepped inside. Closing it with a soft click behind her she let her eyes adjust to the subtle moonlight filtering through the curtains.

     

    “Spencer” she heard Ashley’s soft whisper from the bed, although it came to her like it was making its way through water. “Is everything ok”

     

    She could see the outline of Ashley propping itself up on elbows. Taking a short breath Spencer moved over to the edge of the bed and knelt on it.

    8. Ok…This is normally the part of my comment where I type rather explicit comments on how great your update was but those dirty little phrases just do NOT seem to be enough. Don’t worry though, they’re still running through my head but never before have I been so effected, or done so quite as deeply as this post effected me. For the rest of my week I’ll probably maul my girlfriend everythime I see her because this post moved me in such a way that I’m constantly hot and bothered. Although I’m pretty sure that you would rather not know that, I felt it neccassary you know that if I have innumerable sessions of hot sex, it’s thanks to you. God, that really is TMI.     11. awww…that made me happy. It’s almost as if, and this sounds a tad cliche, but neither girl really needs to “say” anything. Its all been there, hovering, and although each may have been unsure of the extent of the love and feelings, they both knew of its existance. Something needed to be the catalyst and that date seemed to be it. Spencer is now claiming Ashley and that is so sweet. Her way of thinking has finally come full circle and she is no longer rationalizing or making excuses. It is now so obvious and special and loving and wonderful. My favorite part is the last line, as Spencer “clings to her lover for dear life.” That’s exactly where Spencer needs to be. Cause Ash is hers and she is Ashley’s and they always were, just had to get past the bumps in the road. Yay!!Happy holidays, S. xxo
