    I roll my eyes at their conversation.

     

     

    Why the fuck does she think she’s cupid?

     

     

    I block out there words and unconsciously stare off, into Ashley’s direction. My eyes drift between her and the man standing next to her. My tongue glides over my lips as she tilts her head back and lets out a laugh.

     

     

    "Spencer."

     

     

    I shake my head and turn to meet my mother’s gaze. She looks off into the direction I had been staring in. She stays silent for a moment.

     

     

    "There’s nothing going on between you and Ashley right?"

     

     

    I quickly nod my head and confirm her question.

     

     

    "No, nothings going on between us."

     

     

    She looks back to where Ashley is standing.

     

     

    "Do you want there to be?"

     

     

    My face turns a shade of red as I answer.

     

     

    "No, no."

     

     

    I can tell she is unconvinced.

     

     

    "Well if you’re sure, then I think I’m going to introduce her to Dianne."

     

     

    "Dianne?"

     

     

    "Yes, she Trent’s daughter. You know Trent the man who owns that string of private practices.

     

     

    I nod my head as she continues to speak.

     

     

    "Yeah, she’s his daughter and she’s heading that new hospital. It would be great for business if I could get her on our side. Only if you’re okay with it of course."

     

     

    "I think that-"

     

     

    She cuts me off.

     

     

    "Oh there she is now. Would you please excuse me…? Dianne!"

     

     

    I watch as my mother walks past a few crowds of people and approaches the brunette now known as ‘Dianne’. My mother says a few words to her before pointing in Ashley’s direction and leading the attractive girl in her direction.

     

     

    I look on with a pounding in my stomach as I watch the three of them interact. Only seconds later my mother discreetly backs away from them, and then disappears.

     

     

    "She likes you too."

     

     

    I don’t turn around because I already know who the voice belongs to.

     

     

    "How can you tell?"

     

     

    He leans closer to me.

     

     

    "The fact that she keeps looking over here every ten seconds kinda gave it away."

     

     

    As if confirming Aiden’s words she briefly glances in our direction, while continuing her conversation.

     

     

    "You should go for it Spence."

     

     

    "I can’t, she’ll see."

     

     

    His arms wraps around my shoulder.

     

     

    "You’ve never had a problem with that before. Why now?"

     

     

    I don’t answer his question. Instead I step out of his grasp and take few steps in his direction."

     

     

    "Let’s get outta here."

Well…I am now curious to see what secret Spencer has that she can’t let Ashley find out….And by the way….I loved the fact that her mom introduced Ashley to Diane because now…it’s going to be so good…cause Diane and Ashley will hang out…Spencer will seethe in the background and it will be hilarious and oh so good…awesome post..can’t wait to read more..PMS..ASAP

    5. Paula cracks me up in this story…there are WAY too many mom’s like that! And you gave me that little bit of what’s wrong with Spence and then like yanked it away! She’s obviously been hurt and is scarred from it, but what happened? And i like the addition of Diane to make Spencer step her game up. Hopefully you’ll keep revealing Spencer’s past a bit. Loved the update and so looking forward to the next one! PMS!
