The rest of the working week passed by in a happy and productive daze. Carrie still hadn’t been permanently replaced, but that was the least of my concerns, however useless her temporary replacement had proved herself to be. For once I was happy, and I wasn’t going to allow my memories of Carrie to get me down.
Every working hour was spent with Spence as we planned our new pitch, and due to the sheer amount we needed to complete, our breaks and lunches were also spent together… we were working, but at least I was constantly in her company. I loved it, despite our sole topic of conversation being Coke and how screwed we probably were. But we battled on, and by Friday we had the skeleton of an idea we were proud of. Even Aiden stopped by our new working quarters – the same small meeting room, ‘Space’, as it was called, that we had chatted in that Monday after we had ventured forth from DJC in the quest for coffee – to tell us how pleased he was with our progress, although being confused at the same time as to why we hadn’t just run with the first proposal. We even managed to be civil to each other, which earned us the questioning raise of an eyebrow from Spence as she watched Aiden and I banter back and forth over the small details of our new idea.
I found it fascinating, how Spencer worked. I’d never actually worked with her at Track One, due to us being in separate departments, however those days spent with her in the Space room were an eye opener. We bounced off each other, our environment fertile with imagination and humour, and she was able to very quickly transfer every one of our spur-of-the-moment ideas into graphic spreads on her laptop. She was prolific and amazing, and I knew that I could quite easily watch her all day – the way her fingers tapped the keys; how her eyes narrowed with concentration as she stared at the 20” LCD screen in front of us, and how the tip of her tongue poked out from between her soft pink lips as she considered every idea we came up with. She was better than me, but I didn’t mind.

Aiden needs to go the way of carrie! Another great update, but i see some serious drama ahead for our poor little ashley..cant the girljust be happy gahhhh…anyway LOVE IT PMS

my heart literally stop when i read that ash said ‘i’ll do it’. but thank god she didn’t mean it. phew. i knew she wouldn’t but still i got scared. omg she really has to tell spencer the truth on her birthday date right?? sigh. hope spencer understands. arghh when is the next chapter coming??? soon i hope. soon.
