Ashley was no longer silent as she was crying. Spencer seemed to make her so much more emotional than she usually was.

“All I want is for you to be okay.” Spencer stroked the side of her face. “ I know that you never want to be with me again, but if you could just understand what was happening with me maybe you will change your mind. But even if you don’t, I just want you to be okay.”

Paula was now ghostly pale. Spencer let it all out, “Principal Bangernaut, this was all a lie. I told my mother that Ashley did this because I didn’t want deal with the thought that maybe I could be gay. I still don’t know, but I know that I really cared about Ashley. I loved being with Ashley.”

Ashley was surprised that she had gotten through this by barely saying a word. Her heart was dancing hearing the blonde say love twice. At that moment, she forgot all her anger and pulled Spencer into a tight embrace. Spencer felt her heart melting as Ashley finally responded to her.

They were interrupted by the principal’s need to continue the meeting, “Spencer if you could take your seat, so that we can continue.” Spencer returned to her chair. She was so elated that Ashley was smiling at her even if for a moment.

As she sat, she felt her mother’s eyes cutting a whole in the side of her face.

“In light of this new information, we will be dismissing this case requiring no further investigation. Ashley, the school officially apologizes to you for this unfortunate ordeal. We appreciate your maturity in cooperating with us for this entire time. We will inform your mother of these results,” the principal stated.

Ashley nodded.

“However, Spencer, we take these type of accusations very seriously. Although we realize that the primary allegation came from your parent, there will still be consequences for your actions. These consequences will be discussed at a separate scheduled meeting.”

“Whatever the consequences are Principal Bangernaut I want them. I could never repay Ashley for what I’ve put her through”, Spencer said while staring at the brunette.

“I’m glad that you are willing. Okay people that means this meeting is adjourned and this case is dismissed.”

Ashley stood up to leave. She did not want to be caught in between Spencer and her parents now that Paula was free to speak. She dashed passed the group. Spencer ran after her and stopped her outside while Arthur had to hold Paula back.

“Ashley! Ashley! Wait..”

“What do you want, Spencer?”

“I..I don’t…. want ….to lose you…”

“You know Spencer. I just don’t know. This whole thing was so bad. I mean I was happy that you fixed nearly everything.”

“What else is left? What didn’t I fix Ashley? Tell me so I can at least try….”

“My heart Spencer. My heart..”

Ashley walked away leaving Spencer on the sidewalk.
