Love Is Another Word For Regret pt 9
Shane, Dana and Bette could barely stifle the laughter that arose from their stomachs. Alice was lying on the floor, her arm twitching, eyes gazing at the burning lights over head.
Im dead. She shouted, throwing her arms in the air.
Al, youre not dead. Shane persisted for the 5th time. You crashed into a door and well, if you dont get up your nose is going to bleed all over the hardwood floor.
Dead! Alice cried again, grabbing at the bottoms of Danas pants.
Watch it, youre going to bleed all over me. Dana took a step back, allowing Tina to step forward with a wad of tissue paper in the palm of her hand.
Here, sit up and dont tilt your head back, its a common mistake. Just put pressure- She extended two dainty hands, helping Alice to sit up. She pressed the tissues beneath the steady flow of blood and used her index finger and thumb to apply pressure just below the bone. Right there.
Bette smiled, Are you a doctor?
Tina chuckled, shaking her head in reply. She took Alices hand, pulling her slowly to her feet. A muffled thanks was barely audible through the paper, and the slurring of Alices words didnt help much. On the way to the car, Alice tripped a total of 3 times, over her own shoes of course.
Al, youre going to ***** break something. I told you that 5 Absolut martinis would do you no good. Dana added, taking firm hold of Alices arm. Bette unlocked the doors with a quick flick of her wrist, pushing her seat forward to allow Alice, Dana and Tina into the back. Sorry about the conditions, and about your neighbors. Bette pushed Alice into the back of the car, a thud and slight groan from Dana signaled that all was well.
Tina smiled up at Bette taking a moment to admire her gaze before she slid into the back seat, and found her seatbelt. I live down by Samoset. The blonde said quietly, glancing over at Alice beside her.
Alright. Bette nodded and revved the engine before she pushed back the folding roof of the car. Shane laughed and turned the radio full blast, guitar riffs and bass solos shredding the remaining threads of silence that had fallen over Los Angeles. The two girls in front smiled at each other, Bettes fingers sliding across Shanes smooth skin and in between her fragile fingers.

Loving it as always my friend. More soon.
Great, fun chapter. :)
I like this phrase from you, “You know what they say, through a person’s eyes you can see deep into the depths of their soul.”
I do agree with you there.
Great way to end, with Bette saying this to Shane, “No girl could ever take your place, baby. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever.â€
Light note and sweet. I will be waiting for your next chapter…
Love it. A moving chapter with friends helping each other. more please!

“No girl could ever take your place, baby.” Well, I’m thinking that’s just tempting fate…and we all know what happens when you do that!!!
