I Will Not Let You Fall

BREAKING NEWS: LAPD officers have busted a drug distribution network that’s been operating in the Brentwood neighborhood. As a part of ongoing drug investigation LAPD executed four search warrants on four homes in the Western Road blocks. Today, on Sunday morning twenty eight people were arrested in the course of police raid. Each of them will be charged with property and drug related crimes. Police also say this location has been the site of ongoing drug trafficking involving methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. ”Law-abiding residents in our community are fed up with some of these actions of those who are involved in the local drug trade,” says LAPD Sgt. Hugh Mckee. ”These arrests will have a significant disruption on the drug trade in Los Angeles and we will continue to work to sustain this disruption and reduce the prevalence of drug related crime in our communities.”

Bette pressed the mute button on the remote when her phone rang. She half-rose on the sofa and picked up the phone from the coffee table.

    ”Speaking.”

    ”You’ve heard?”

    ”Yes,” she answered evenly.

”Kinda been expected. Those imbeciles in Brentwood cartel were told long ago to change location. On the other hand, too much competition is never healthy, so none the worse for us.”

”Not necessarily. Cops talk bullshit that the location has been supervised as a part of a drug trafficking investigation or whatever. It’s a known fact that they have rat-faces who sing songs to them about the course of business. Who knows how many of them report on us.”

”Sounds accurate as well.” Marcus approved and altered the topic. ”So, how’s it been going?”

    ”Tolerably.”

”By the way, Chad’s been asking when auntie Bette will come and play with him again.”

Bette’s face softened, a warm smile playing on the corners of her mouth. ”Tell Chad that auntie Bette will come and play with him very soon and that she misses him terribly.”

    ”He’s gonna be exstatic.”

Just then the brunette heard someone calling her on the second line. She put the phone inches away from her ear and saw an indefinite number on the display screen. ”Hey Marcus, I’ve gotta go, somebody’s calling.”

    ”Uh-huh. Later, girl.”

Bette disconnected and switched on to the other line. ”Hello.”

    1. I will forgive you anytime!

So, the boss of bosses called Bette and her boss vanished in thin air, hmmm.
Why do i have the feeling that Bette will either get a promotion or is in danger to be taken out as well.

I wait patiently for your next chapter!

    2. So things are getting to the critical peak, maybe this is Bette’s turning point to redemption or the ultimate breaking down, or perhaps something else, this is really exiting.
I will wait for your next update
