    The Therapist

Bette sat with her headphones on and her knees pulled up to her chest, the music blasting tru her ears kept her from going crazy from all the thoughts in her head.  They were noice cancelling so they drowned out the outside world, and bette was fine with that. She didn’t want a part of the outside world, she used to, but not after what happened. Tears burned behind her eyes, but she swallowed them away. She looked to the right to her the drawer of her nightstand and she needed to release of pain, she wanted cut her heartache and memory  away. She need punish herself in some kind of way, and since her dad was downstairs and her other usually method of binging and purging during the day was not an option she needed to do something to get this tension gone. Just as she wanted to reach for her drawer her she saw in the corner of her eye, the door cracked open. Bette jumped back and pulled her headphones around her neck.

    Melvin “Elizabeth”

    Bette “Dad. Can’t you knock.”

Melvin “I did knock, You probably did not hear me because you had you headphone on. And young lady, since I last checked this still is my house and I do pay the bills so can do as I please”

    Bette whispered under her breath

“we all know how that went”

    Melvin “Im sorry?”

Bette “Nothing. Can I help you?”

Bette and her dad spoke to a minimum these last few weeks, They didn’t eat diner together anymore, what was the point bette thought.

    Melvin “I spoke with Kit”

Bette looked with him in disbelieve, spoke with kit? He didn’t speak with kit on a regular bases. Kit was her older sister, Kit was a alcoholic/addict, in recovery. Half sister actually but it never felt that way, Kit never made her feel less loved. Kit always said she never did anything half, so she was no half sister.

    Bette “Is she okay?”

Melvin took a dive and sat on the edge of bette’s bed and looked around her room, he welled up a bit he lost contact with her. And now she was so lost, and not even kit could find her.

    1. Welcome to the site!

I must say it’s very sad beginning. So are you planning to do Tina therapist? But if you do – isn’t Bette to young to have something with her in the future? I guess we’ll see.

    2. Thank you!

It is a sad biginning, but I had I had to get it out.

I can tell you that I have Tina in mind as the therapist a very young, early 20s (still in school So bit of an intern, apprentice) therapist.

(In my country you can do school (not having a full masters in psychology) and work as a therapist so it’s not out of the ordinary to have a really young therapist. So keeping that in mind I’m writing this story really.

Hope this explains it better :)

      Love xx

    3. Oh my god…. how horrible…. Suicide of your mother and being found by your child….. this is brutal….
Bette has some serious problems – binging and purging, thinking about self mutilation and now this? And she is a young girl – what high school.

      So… what next? Really a brutal beginning….
