Perfect – (Chapter: Upside of Anger)

Over a week had passed since Megan’s arrival at Ashley’s house. Now, she was finally living there. Spencer hated thinking about it. She hated thinking about what might happen if Megan pulled her moves on Ashley. She didn’t want to lose Ashley. After all, she did just find her. Spencer wanted to talk to Ashley about it. But Megan always seemed to be around. And Aiden seemed to be coming around more and more. Spencer just didn’t understand it.

One day before school Spencer told Ashley that they needed to talk.  Ashley didn’t know exactly what it could be about but she could tell by Spencer’s voice that she was worried.

"Ash, I need to ask you about something." Spencer seemed to have hurt in her eyes.

"What is it Spence? What’s gong on that I don’t know about? Are you okay?"

"I don’t know. Only you can answer that question."

    "meaning??"Ashley asked.

"Are you attracted to Megan?" Spencer looked away as she asked Ashley.

"Are you kidding?" Ashley took Spencer’s hands in her own, "Look at me, Spence."

Spencer looked deep into Ashley’s dark brown eyes.

"No one has ever made me feel the way that you do. No one has ever cared for me the way that you do. And I’ve never felt like this for anyone else. Megan is my step-sister, nothing less and nothing more. You, you’re my girlfriend, my light and hope. And dispite how much love scares me, I love you Spence." Ashley’s eyes began to tear up.

Spencer was also crying.  She felt like weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. She felt whole and loved, "I love you, too."

The two of them embraced one another outside of Spencer’s house.  In that moment Ashley knew that she had to start planning their perfect evening. And she knew that she would need Megan and Aiden’s help to pull it off. She wanted to show Spencer that she really did love  her, that nothing in the world could come between them.

"Aiden! Hey Aiden I need your help." Ashley was yelling at him from a distance in a crowded hallway during passing period at school.

    "What’s up?"

"So, I want Spencer and I to have the most perfect night possible.  And I need an opinion on what would be best."

    "Alright, shoot."

"Should I use candles?" Ashley asked.

"Candles are nice. They add a nice romantic feel to everything." Aiden seemed to be calm and cool.

    "Flowers?"

"Go with roses. Pink or red should do the trick."

"Food?"Ashley seemed like she had never done anything of this sort before.

"Dinner before hand. Then take her back to your place. Make sure that everything’s set up."

Ashley smiled, "Thanks Aiden. Now all I have to do is find Megan."

Ashley told Megan the situation and asked her if she could set everything up for her while Spencer and her were out to dinner. Megan agreed and they planned to go buy everything they needed the next day. It was perfect. All Ashley had left to do was tell Spencer to clear her Friday night.

Ashley practically ran through the crowded hall’s of the school, trying to catch up to Spencer, "Spence!! Wait!"

Spencer turned around and spotted Ashley running towards her.  She could do nothing but smile.

"Hey, I need to talk to you about tomorrow night."

Tomorrow night, what’s tomorrow night?" Spencer was intrigued.

    "Us, dinner, at Rymold’s."

"Are you sure you want to have a dinner that nice, Ash?"

    "Positive."

"Okay." Spencer knew that something had to be up.

    "So you’re free?"

    "Absolutely."

Ashley and Megan drove frantically around L.A. to get flowers and candles. There were so many to choose from that Ashley wasn’t sure which ones Spencer would like the most. She finally decided on a vanilla scented white candles. Ahd she took Aiden’s advice and went with pink and red roses. Everything had to be laid out perfect. Ashley wanted candles all over the room and roses on the floor and on the bed. She made sure and told Megan exactly what she wanted. And Megan practailly drew diagrams of everything just to get it right.

Tomorrow was the big day. Ashley couldn’t wait for Spencer to see it all. It would be the perfect night together to finally consumate their relationship. And Ashley wasn’t going to let anything get in the way.
