Conviction: Days of Future Past – 105

“What do you mean, the trial was moved up to next Monday?” asked Alex, Fred was on the other end of the line.  Swearing up a storm in his thick southern drawl, Fred, was not a happy camper.

“You heard me right, can you get everything squared away by then?”

“Who is pushing this up, Fred?  Seriously, what is going on here?”

“I don’t know, but Alex?  This thing is way bigger then the two of us, and I’m starting to think there is someone much more powerful behind this,” admitted Fred.

“Great,” stated Alex, hanging up the phone with a long sigh.  “DAMN IT!”  yelled Alex, wanting to throw something.

“That attitude is going to get you thrown outta court.  I got something,” said Bree from the door, still looking haggard. There was something dark in her eyes.

                “Bree…,”

“Storm is good,” Bree said coolly.  “Come on,” she said.

They moved to the conference room, Bree limping, and Alex trying not to see how badly she was in pain.

“We found your connection, but its going to be hard to play up, you might want to try and get Escobar to make a deal,” said Bree, pushing the door open with her cane, revealing Brian, Christina, and Jessica.

“No deals, not this time,” steadfastly stated Alex.

“Whatever ya say,” was all that Bree would say.  “Take it away, Brian.”

Brian’s eyes got wide, he stood, rubbing his hands on the front of his pink shirt, “Right, so we tracked down 29 different phone numbers from that throw away cell phone.  We came up with one common link, Gabby Link Inc.  Owned by, none other than, Victor Bagger,” said Brian.  Seeing the odd look on Alex’s face, he quickly continued.  “Victor Bagger is one of Escobar’s alias’.”

“We got him, we have a connection,” breathed a sigh of relief from Alex.

“Not that air tight, we have to prove it.  Just because he owns the places, doesn’t mean he hired Dutch,” reminded Bree.

“Why are you so negative?” asked Alex of Bree.
