You’re Beautiful

“Wow, that girl is HOT!” Ashley screamed over the music playing through the speakers at Grey’s.  Spencer looked at her with a tilted head, and with a hint of jealousy in her eyes.

“Do you think I’m hot?” She threw out at the brunette sitting next to her.  Ashley and Spencer had been in an in-between state in their relationship.  They both revealed their more than friendly feelings for one another two weeks before, neither knowing where to go from there. Ashley, being the more experienced one, did not want to rush their blossoming romance, and decided to take things slow and see where it leads them.  She knew that the feelings she had for Spencer were already deeper than any of her past relationships, and was determined to make this one work.  The downside to this approach is that no one wanted to take the lead, so, they hadn’t really gotten to the girlfriend stage yet.

“No.” Ashley answered Spencer, causing a frown to appear on the blonds face. Very upset and shocked by Ashley’s answer, she looked away trying to hide the tears building up in her eyes.

 “Spence…Spence look at me..” Ashley reached for Spencer’s hand and finally made eye contact. “Spence, in order for someone to be hot, they have to have a toned body, a sexy smile and great hair, yet require no intelligence or personality whatsoever. They are nothing but a pretty face that turns heads. But you Spence, you are so much more than that.  Not only is your body sexy as hell, but your personality is just as much as a turn on.  You’re compassionate, funny, caring, intelligent… and pretty much every girls dream.  So, do I think your Hot?  No. I think you’re beautiful.”

Spencer was so caught off guard that she didn’t know what to say.  She had tears forming in her eyes, finally letting one tear escape.  She knew that was a hard thing for Ashley to do, let down her guard and let her emotions and true feelings be known.  She had been very confused the past two weeks over their “relationship”, and was starting to think Ashley wasn’t interested, until just then.  They just stared at each other, neither wanting to break the moment, but Ashley, feeling completely vulnerable, broke the silence first.  “Hey do you want to get out of here? Maybe go walk the beach?”
