    Ashley’s cousin offers insight; Spencer and Ashley both battle with their thoughts of Lindsay.

    “What…what do you mean exactly?” Spencer asked nervously, sliding over to create more space between her and the other blonde.

    “I don’t know…like, do you want to do something?”

    Spencer didn’t know what to say. She didn’t want to assume anything that would make things awkward between the two of them. After all, just because she was attracted to Lindsay didn’t mean Lindsay felt the same way. For all she knew, Lindsay could be completely straight and simply after a friendship…but for a reason she couldn’t quite justify to herself, she knew that this wasn’t the case.

    “Spencer, I’m not trying to get you to sign up for recreational water polo or anything, ok? Don’t over-analyze it. We can watch a movie, we can listen to music and talk, we can tell ghost stories, you know? I don’t really care, I just thought it would be a good idea to do something. Unless you’ve got a shit load of homework like I do, because if that’s the case, I will leave you to it. I wouldn’t want to mess up your perfect GPA or anything.”

    “It’s nowhere near perfect,” Spencer replied, relieved that Lindsay wasn’t coming onto her.

    “Give me a break, Spencer. I’m pretty good at reading people and you just scream ‘I turn my homework in early and do all the extra credit.’”

    “There’s nothing wrong with that.”

    “Hey, I never said that there was,” Lindsay said, picking up on Spencer’s defensiveness.

    “I’m just saying…you don’t know me. You don’t know anything about me.”

    Lindsay stared at Spencer for a moment, attempting to understand where she was coming from.

    “Are you mad at me or something? I mean, I know it’s early in the friendship and I don’t know you…but I thought the whole point of talking was to…well, get to know someone better. I want to get to know you better, Spencer, ok? No more assumptions,” Lindsay said, placing her hand on top of Spencer’s.

    “I’m sorry. I’m just…it hasn’t been a good day.”

    “I understand. And if I do something that really pisses you off, don’t be afraid to tell me. Trust me, I won’t know unless you tell me. Now, do you do the fucking extra credit or what?”

    Spencer laughed, “Yeah, I do the extra credit.”

    13. Ok, first to respond to what someone else said, I don’t think there will be a threesome-Ashley doesn’t like Lindsey and she’s possessive. I cannot believe Spencer, if she is attracted to this girl and she feels its interfering with her relationship with Ash, she needs to cut the relationship right now, period. If you love someone, are in love with someone, no matter how hot another person is, you don’t stray. I really hope Spencer doesn’t do anything stupid. And Ashley should have picked up on something when Spencer got all defensive when she told her what she thought.Linds knows what she is doin, f*ckin bitch. She’s playing the friend angle, getting in good with the family, being all grateful and blah blah blah. Ashley needs to bust that bitch out, seriously.Can’t wait for the next chapters.
