    If You Could Only See

She’s holding her in her arms now. The girl comes over just like she has many nights before. Those nights where the air is just a little colder, sending an extra chill down your spine. It’s the type of night where things just feel uncomfortable, and you can’t seem to get settled. It’s a night where you can feel the storm coming after the calm, and it’s a night when a mother, once again, refuses to love.

If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

The brunette could tell what had happened the second she opened the door and her blonde beauty’s tear-streaked face appeared before her. She brings the girl inside and comforts her, and while holding her in her arms the brunette can’t help but wonder how a person could make an angel like her cry, how they could bring so much pain and sadness into her life. It makes her wonder why that woman can’t understand. If she could only see what was going on then maybe things would be different.

    Well you got your reasons
    And you got your lies
    And you got your manipulations
They cut me down to size
Sayin’ you love but you don’t
You give your love but you won’t
If you could only see the way she loves me
    Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
    And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

If the woman could only see, she would find an Ohio farm boy hitting on her daughter, just so he could sleep with her. She would see that same daughter turning him down, knowing that something wasn’t right. She would feel her daughter’s discomfort in any other relationship she had back in their hometown.

    Seems the road less traveled
    Show’s happiness unraveled
And you got to take a little dirt
    To keep what you love
    That’s what you gotta do

Sayin’ you love but you don’t
You give your love but you won’t

    1. Ok :) Prepare for honesty cos I usually am. I hate stories, be they one shots or otherwise, that incorporate lyrics. I don’t know why, I just do. This is the first time ever, and i mean that, that I have put the song quoted on while I read. Because it was just so damn appropriate and I felt that I had to because it gave the perfect atmosphere. So many of the stories on here are… lacklustre. We don’t say it, because we don’t like to discourage, but it’s true. This story was anything but. It was different but at the same time, very, very poignant. I loved it (gee could ya tell). If you don’t write more I’ll be dissapointed. Brilliant one shot, now for the ongoing story chapters!!!
