A week had gone by since the girls left campus for Winter break. They had managed to see each other every other day and talk on the phone at least once a day, but it was still very different. Both girls knew it, and they both knew that not living together next semester would be even harder.

Christmas had finally come and it would be the first time in a week that the girls spent the whole day together. Ashley excitedly pulled into the Carlin driveway, bags of presents in hand. She cautiously knocked on the door.

“Merry Christmas Mr. C” she said to the tall man wearing a Santa hat and a warm smile on his face.

“Merry Christmas Ashley, come on in” he greeted helping her with her bags. “Spencer is up in her room getting ready. Why don’t you head on up.”

“Thanks” Ashley said and headed up the stairs.

She quietly made her way to the door of Spencer’s room and slowly pushed it open. There was the blonde sitting on her bed, dressed in a short jean skirt and a red, form fitting sweater. Their eyes met and before Ashley could say anything Spencer was up and hugging her.

“Merry Christmas Spence” Ashley said with a laugh at how tightly the blonde was still holding her.

“Merry Christmas!” Spencer said, releasing her grip. “You’re here early, it’s only 12 o’clock”

“Yeah well, I couldn’t wait to see you, and I have to leave for Gray around 6”

Spencer smiled widely “So we’re leaving at 6?”

“We?” The brunette questioned, mirroring Spencer’s grin

“Yeah, you didn’t think I’d miss it did you?”

“Won’t your family be upset?”

“I talked to them, they’re ok with it, don’t you want me to come?”

“Are you serious?!? Of course I want you to come, I wouldn’t have it any other way” Ashley said, leaning in and kissing the other girl.

“Mmmm” was the blonde’s only response.

Ashley pulled Spencer towards the bed, so that they were sitting, facing each other.

“Hey, so I know this past week has been, well, hard. Not being able to spend as much time together and all.” Ashley began in a serious tone that worried Spencer.
