Helena held a considerable amount of anger with her after Bette had finally kicked her out. She was forced to go and apologize to her well-off mother for a place to stay, as she’d burned many of her bridges with friends years ago. All of her frustration re-surfaced every time she thought of her beautiful wife, and Bette was often on the receiving end of upsetting conversations over the phone. It never seemed to end.
“Bette Porter speaking.”
“You can’t really be serious about all of this,” Helena snapped immediately, and Bette dropped her pencil and her head, both feeling just as lifeless over her desk.
“Uh … Helena, you’d like to think I’m kidding, but unlike you, I don’t feel that everything in my life is a joke. I meant what I said.” She picked her head up to gain some of her confidence back, and some reassurance. “I can’t live with you anymore. I can’t trust you. You’ve made that painfully obvious."
Helena slumped down in her seat at her mother’s table to pick up her designer purse with aggravation. Her mother wasn’t quite as forgiving as Bette, and she wasn’t happy with the current arrangement – no beautiful woman in her bed, and no one to take advantage of and fight with. "If you think this is over …"
"I don’t care right now. Just get out and stay out. We can go through this again with lawyers present." Bette’s stare was one of the deadliest, and her anger was simmering, and Helena knew that, but Bette tried to remain rational. In such situations, she liked to speak professionally, so as not to become too emotionally involved. She couldn’t be vulnerable. “I’m busy, Helena. I need to go.”
“What? With that slut? Oh – have fun.”
“I’m not sure who you’re referring to, but I have work to do. I should hope you would let me get along with my day, just as I’m giving you your own space.”
“Is she there?”
“You know, I find that a little disheartening when you’re the one who’s been having an affair behind my back, and luring another woman into our bed.”
Helena scoffed in disbelief, but she knew that all of Bette’s points were valid – they always were. Bette’s points were always expertly crafted and established, and that made it incredibly difficult to argue, especially when Helena knew she was in the wrong.

Its so sad to see Bette go through all this. I agree with how Shane feels too. I’m glad Bette finally saw the light when it came to Helena but at the same time it sucks that she had to find out that way. I can’t say I’m not excited to read the next chapter. I’m sure Tina can make it all better :D
I am enjoying this story, even after I told myself I would not..Bette/Helana, yuk!! But I continued and now suprise..I am getting involved in the story…great update…PPS!!

I’m happy to see an update to this story…and so soon! I love how it’s progressing. I love the Bette-Shane friendship. She’s the only person besides Tina who actually gets Bette. Also, can Tina BE any more adorable in this story?!
Despite the intense sexual tension between these two characters i can still see the innocence and sweetness in them. Hope that tina brings lots of patience because bette is going to be a one tough nut to crack. Thanks!
Tina is sweet as ever and Shane is really a good friend. Although im concerned that you will bring back Helena’s crazy according her behavior from previous chapters, im thrilled to see what tibette relationship will be onto some progress. Its a story from Bette’s vision so far, i would really like to see what in Tina’s side beside she is head over heels to Bette and being very sweet and caring.
Actually as heartbroken as Bette is I think that is the best chapter so far. I think Tina being her friend atm is ideal as Bette needs to sort through her feelings but at least Tina truly wants to be there. Thanks to Shane for the little push in the right direction.
