This story is set in the mid-1950s of New York. Therese and Carol have lived together for a few months now. There's a lot they still have to figure out. There have been other problems, and the odds were stacked high against them, at the start. They've managed to work through some of these. And they're each starting to establish themselves in their professions. They seem to have a strong bond. But is it something they can grow to depend on? Or will the wider world get in the way?
