…And It Feels Like – (Chapter: What We’re Up Against: Part 1)

    ———————-

"Okay no! Just because Kobe changes his number doesn’t make people forget that he was a perv 2 years ago!" Her sides ached whenever she had spoken to Aiden, the comforting pain never failed to slip in even with the quick appearances of the hallway. He’d always had that effect on her, even when she hadn’t wanted him to. Since the shooout, Kyla had been by Aiden’s side 24/7 picking up where his nurses and parents had left off giving him company that he had needed. Spending your last summer before your senior year in a hospital then on bed rest… it wasn’t exactly the way he had pictured spending his days on the last day of school last year. "Okay for one, the charges were dropped and, if that’s what it takes to make people forget… then so be it. Didn’t like the number 8 anyway."

"It’s not that easy to make people forget." Kyla slipped in softly, she hadn’t even realized she had taken offense until she saw Aiden’s eyes burning into the side of her. The topic of him and Ashley was taboo, very taboo. It’s not like she even wanted to talk about it either. Her sister was the other woman, why would she want to bring up that subject every second of the day? Especially when she still had deep feelings for Aiden and was willing, or really hoping to give it another shot. After the accident, or really after Spencer had left for the summer to ‘clense’ herself Ashley had given Aiden the write off. If it hadn’t of been for him, then her and Spencer would’ve still been together point blank. And she, Kyla, could’ve been having sex with her would be boyfriend right now. Instead, she was just constantly walking around on the Ashley subject, who hadn’t visited or called to check up on Aiden the entire summer. Every time Kyla poked her head into his doorway, he straighted hoping that one afternoon Ashley would come sneaking in behind her, but it never happned. It was always just Kyla. The other Davies.

Aiden was so in love with Ashley, that it made her sick to see her half-sister write Aiden off like he was nothing. Aiden wasn’t just a nothing. "So…" Kyla shifted in his bed, biting down on her lower lip as her eyes avoided Aiden. But now, he had probably tore away to gawk at the lone picture now on his bedside of him and Ashley from god knows how long ago. There had been so many days Kyla just wanted to throw it out of the window. "There’s going to be an assembly first day of school. They’re having a memorial assembly for Sherry and her family. I don’t know what they’re going to do now that we’re out of two cheerleaders." She didn’t want to bring up the sore subject of Sherry, the tragic ending for Kigh High Cobra’s perfect cheerleader, especially around Aiden but it was the only thing that wasn’t about them and it distracted him from bringing up Ashley. If they weren’t awkwardly trying to make some sort of conversation he was drilling her about her sister’s whereabouts, though she had grown more agitated lately and Aiden had gained the sense to step around it. "Yeah? I don’t know what the basketball teams going to do. Glen’s graduated, and I’m… this. Bed boy. This isn’t how I pictured my senior year."

    1. Ashley can’t bring herself to choose between Aiden and Spencer but she REALLY needs to. Everyone is really going to hanging in limbo until she does. I can’t wait until school starts and they all have to see each other again. Please tell me you are going to bring it all back to Spashley in the end. PMS!

    5. Wow..Full of emotions…full of pain…so descriptive.Ashley has always been my favorite character…pain and insecurities hidden under false confidence and “tough chick” image….But now, I feel bad for Spencer, after being treated like crap, going through so much for someone who is somehow using her as a rock to hang on to…People don’t give her enough credit, I may be some of them, but I think she’s strong enough to slowly but surely get over Ashley…Well…anyway…PMS, I loved it!
