    Decisions – (Chapter: 1)

The Carlins walked back into the room. “What was with Ashley?” Glen asked. “She was crying.”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Spencer said. “Mom, can I leave yet? I hate this place.”

“I think you have to stay a little while longer,” Paula said. “I’ll go check with your doctor.”

                “Thanks,” Spencer smiled.

Paula left the room to find the doctors. Arthur sat next to Spencer.

“Honey,” Arthur said softly, “is everything ok with Ashley?”

“I don’t know,” Spencer said look at her hands in her lap.

“Do you want to tell me about it?” Arthur asked.

“Not right now,” Spencer said. “I’ll tell you later when we get home.”

“Ok,” Arthur smiled. “Whenever you’re ready.”

                “Thanks dad,” Spencer said.

Arthur leaned over and hugged Spencer. Paula came back into the room with the doctor.

“How are you feeling, Spencer?” Dr. Carter asked.

“Great,” Spencer said. “I’m a little sore though.”

“Ok,” Dr. Carter said. “Good news, you can go home. Just make sure you take it easy. Don’t do too much. Just relax.”

“Thank you, Dr. Carter,” Spencer smiled. “Thank you so much.”

“I’ll have your mom sign the discharge papers and you can be on your way,” Dr. Carter said. He walked out in the hall with Paula.

“Where are my clothes?” Spencer asked.

“Well, we don’t really have any for you,” Arthur said. “We came right here. None of us have been home.”

“So am I supposed to walk out of here in this?” Spencer asked pointing to her nightgown.

“We’ll see if your mom can get any scrubs or something for you,” Arthur said.

Arthur walked out into the hall and talked to Paula. Spencer waited patiently. She was relieved to go home but she also dreaded it. Arthur walked back in a few minutes later with a set of scrubs.

“Thank you so much,” Spencer said.

“You’re welcome, kiddo,” Arthur said. “Get changed and we’ll be out in the hall waiting.”

“Ok,” Spencer said. She waited until they were out of the room before she got up. She slowly changed and made her way out into the hall.

    1. Yet another Post Season 2 fic. I see where Spencer is coming from. This is where I think Ashley needs to make herself clear, in this fic, as well as on the show, that she is trying to decide who she must have in her life, not who she is in love with. That she is choosing between someone she feels is family and her girlfriend, if that is what in fact she is doing, not choosing between to lovers. If Ashley isn’t in love with Aiden, then it should be clear that she is forced to choose between 2 people, not 2 people she is in love with. Personally, as soon as she couldn’t make a decision, that would have been it for me. If you don’t know you are in love with me without hesitation, or say u can’t choose, that means you don’t want me enough. We’ll see what happens.
