    Don’t Cry Out. – (Chapter: 8. Totally above-average day.)

The next day, the eleventh day, she’d decided that it wasn’t even worth it to look. Instead of checking the bakery for any signs of Ms. Davies, she decided to get a new wallet.

She was sad to see the other one gone. It had been made out of duct tape by a friend, specifically for Spencer, before the move from Ohio. It was also possibly the worst wallet in the world; the money would fall out of it and into her pocket, oftentimes, but it was very unlikely to be pickpocketed, and, if someone did happen to snitch it, the money would have probably ended up in her pocket anyway. Unfortunately, the tenth day of no Ashley hadn’t been kind to her, and all of her money had stayed within the duct tape walls of the wallet.

Still, it had been time for a new one anyway, she supposed, and ended up with a rough, thready black wallet with small white dots scattered on it. She didn’t know why she liked it. Probably because it was in the clearance aisle. But she did, regardless, and so, she bought it.

The wallet, of course, was happy. It had finally been chosen, out of the millions upon millions of wallets that had circulated in and out of the store during it’s shelf life. Now that it had moved on to pocket life, the wallet was ecstatic. It was happy to hold a firm grip on all of Spencer’s money, her license, and several giftcards and bit of paper that displayed phone numbers of her acquaintances.

What she really needed was a cell phone, but that would have to wait until later.

The twelfth day, Spencer almost didn’t even step out of the house. What was the point, anyway? She’d go to the bakery, look inside, see no Ashley, and then head back, making her shoes all the more angry with her as they slowly became more and more worn down with all of these useless trips to Farley Bakery. The way she figured it, she was well on her way to forcing her shoes into strike, and feared they might pick up some protest tips from her socks the next time they all got together for lunch.

    1. aahh, I missed you! And the update was definitely worth the wait, but I seriously cannot wait until Ashley finds out that Spencer is well… Spencer. Not ‘Emily’. Hah!

    2. I think you’ll find I’m a reformed character and have become a – wait for it… frequent poster! Mental or what?! It’s weird you posted today cos I was actually wondering where the hell you’d vanished to… even went as far as to find your last post to see how long it’d been. It’s been a long time… you should be ashamed. Anyway, loving this story, can’t wait for the shit to hit the fan – I was just waiting for Paula to come out and have a go at Spencer, only for Ash to hear her real name isn’t emily! more more more! please?! Jx

    3. ohh where oh where is this going to leaaaaad?! is the lunch where spencer reveals all? will it be willingly or will it slip? ohhh man! whatever happens..its going to be great!!

    4. So I was walking around the kitchen while I waited for the fanfic listing page to load (ugh, visiting my parents always entails dial-up internet) and when I saw that you had posted I walked straight into the table. Painful? Yes, but if your inanimate object stories have taught me anything, the table is probably pretty sore too. Point is, I love your story and this was a great update. Looking forward to the next one

    9. SO. Happy. You. Updated. Woot. Dear Spencer and her dear sneakers. How can you all be so stupid and hypocritical? Just wait. Kyla’s probably dating Aiden. They’ll all meet up for the double date or something and WHOOPS! Spencer’s in the crapper. Is it wrong that I can’t WAIT for that – or something similar – to happen? Well, if wanting it is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

WONDERFUL update.
