Face Down – (Chapter: 14)
“I’ve been awake for a while now
You’ve got me feelin’ like a child now
‘Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tingles in a silly place
And it starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers staying safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
And it starts in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
What am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way
I just mmmmm
And they start in my toes
Makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes
I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time
Wherever you go
I’ve been asleep for a while now
You tuck me in just like a child now
‘Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I’m comfortable enough to feel your warmth
And it starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feeling shows
’cause you make me smile baby
Just take your time now
Holdin’ me tight
Wherever wherever wherever you go
Wherever wherever wherever you go
wherever you go
I always know
‘Cause you make me smile
Even just for a while”
I look over and Spencer is awake and smiling at me. I walk over to the bed.
“That was beautiful,” Spencer said softly, her voice shaky and scratchy. “I missed your voice.”
I smiled. “I missed you so much,” I said.
“Will you please lay with me?” she asked. “I need you next to me.”
“I’d love to,” I smiled and crawled into the bed. I laid on my side so Spencer was still on her back. I pressed my lips to her temple. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she said.
I put my arm over her stomach. “You should get some rest baby,” I said.
“You too,” she said. “You look exhausted.”
I smiled softly. “I’m better now,” I said. “Let’s just worry about you getting all better.”
“If you say so,” she said.
“I do,” I said. “There is a big, comfy bed at home with your name on it so you need to get better ASAP.”
“Ok,” she said giving up the fight. “Just one thing before I go to sleep.”
“All right,” I said.
“Kiss me,” she said softly.
I leaned down and kissed her softly. It felt so good to feel her lips on mine again. I missed it so much.
