    Ghost Redux

With a smirky grin upon my lips, I leaned agaisnt the SVU door jam. I was merely watching as the entire unit was gathered around a board and listening to Craegan going over the details and evidence that was already gathered. When he was wrapping up with conviction and determination to find a girl that had been kidnapped with 20-hours left to find her before she’d be rapped, killed, and dumped in the Hudson-that was when I came out of my lurch against the post that was holding me up while I had my legs crossed at the ankles. I slowly approached, not trying to disguise my appearance but not wishing to disturb. I stood just behind the clean cut brunette in front of me. The detectives were dismissed and as they turned, she nearly jumped about 2 feet into the air, she was so startled. My smirk became wider as I cockly stated, "Why Detective Benson you’d think you’ve seen a ghost." When Liv finally came back to her senses, she grabbed me by the arm and pulled me off to her desk. In a hushed voice she was admanant, "What are you doing back? Where’s your guards? Have the convicted that drug cartel or is it dead? I haven’t read anything about it." It was too cute, I couldn’t help it I let a little chuckle out, "Well, Detective Benson, I am back to resume my life, I am no longer in The FBI Witness Protection Program, no the drug cartel has not been irradicated but I am here to see that it is or die trying," God, it felt good to be Alexandra Cabot again, an ADA of NYC, and felt awesome to be able to be free to be amused by the whole situation.
