    Late night in the office… yes another one

    The knowledge that my assumption about Carrie being involved was correct only highlighted a fact I had been trying to hide from myself for a inordinate amount of time.  I’d always told myself that I didn’t know why was jealous – that I felt all of these conflicting emotions because I was just a confused mess… only now could I admit that I was indeed a confused mess, but one that was completely in love with Spencer Carlin…still!

    “Fuck!” I cried, picking up my things and quickly vacating the office, locking the door behind me.

    To my surprise, Spencer and Carrie still hadn’t left the building.  I caught up with them in reception where Carrie was just saying ‘bye’ as Spencer was leaving to get into a cab to go home.  We all stepped outside the building into the evening breeze – the sky already becoming dark – at the same time and after a mumbled ‘goodbye’ I disappeared round the corner… in the the wrong direction to home.  Turning back on myself , I clung to the shadows as I watched Carrie wave Spencer off and then suddenly turn right around again, only to return to the warmth of the building.  I smiled to myself as I gradually made my way back to the doors of the reception, only to find that she wasn’t there.  It dawned on me that I knew exactly where I’d find her and so, instead of taking the elevator all the way to the 10th floor, I got off on the 7th and braved the dark stairwell for the rest of my journey in aid of ensuring she didn’t become aware of my presence in a similar manner to how I had hers and Spencer’s.

    In congratulated myself on ascending the stairs in such good time, and without being too out of breath – obviously my brief foray into stair climbing with Aiden the other day had prepared me for what was to come.  I thought that maybe I’d thank him one day, if I ever decided to forgive him.

    Upon entering the corridor that led to our office, I could see that a light was on somewhere inside the creative’s den, and soundlessly ventured forward, peering round the door to see Carrie rifling through the very folder that I too had been looking at on Aiden’s desk.  Before she had the chance to turn and notice me, I wandered over to her desk and sat down again in her seat, watching through the glass walls as she took the folder over to our photocopier and began to doggedly copy its entire contents.  I smiled to myself.  Busted, you bitch!

    2. Erm…crap. That sounded like one of those “perfect plans” that always end up backfiring. So I predict: Spencer finds out somehow, there’s a ton of drama like always, then there’s some forgiving going on even though spencer won’t want to, annd then they’ll end up together. But that’s just how things always go. Maybe you’ll come up with something more interesting.

    6. Oh thank goodness Carrie doesn’t have a brain. I just hope that she doesn’t somehow magically grow one…the “ah well” she sighed out at end sounded slightly ominous. Maybe I’m just being paranoid? Either way, loved the post.
