She chuckles at me. “I never thought I’d see the day. Ashley Davies finally gave in. You succumbed to the pressure and I’m so proud of you.”

            “Shut up,” I say playfully.

            “Don’t worry,” she assures me. “Your secret it safe with me. I’ll even return it to the video store for you to lessen the risk of getting caught.”

            “Really?” I say hopeful.

            “Of course,” she answers. “We couldn’t ruin your reputation. If people found out that Ashley Davies rented and watched The Notebook willingly, and not just to seduce some girl, they would think you went soft or something.”

            “You’re mocking me,” I said shyly. “And I’m also a little mad at you.”

            “For what?” She asks devilishly, as she places small kisses on my neck and face.

            “Well,” I say unsure. “I think I have gone soft, and it’s all your fault.”

            She pulls back and smiles at me. “I love you so much,” she says before kissing me passionately. “And for the record,” she says as she pulls away, “I think it is so sexy that you’re watching The Notebook. How do you like it so far?”

            “It’s okay,” I lie through my teeth.

            “Just okay?” she asks.

            I roll my eyes at her and give in. “Okay okay it’s amazing! They’re so in love and it’s so beautiful!”

            “I’m so in love, and you’re so beautiful,” she says never taking her eyes off of me.

            “I love you too,” I say smiling. “But if you don’t get out of my way so I can make sure this Rachel McAdams chick stays with the right dude, I’m going to throw a hissy fit.”

            She laughs as she lies down next to me, snuggling up with her head on my chest and we finish watching the one movie I thought I’d never watch.

            After it ends, I have literally soaked my face and the top of Spencer’s head with my tears as I sob uncontrollably. Spencer lifts her head and looks up at me.

            “That was so good!” I yell out honestly. “I can’t believe how in love they were after so many years! How is that even possible? Beautiful! Just perfect!”
