Kit: Daddy.

Melvin: Katie.

They hugged as everyone watches on awkwardly. Kit and Melvin’s relationship is in a better place also, but there are still some anger and resentments dangling in the way.

Bette: So are we all ready to go?

Bette dropped the bags by the front door.

Tina: Yeah babe just waiting on Jenny.

Bette: Ok well I will load these in the car then.

Tina: Ok

Angelica: Auntie Kit look at what papa bought me!

She held her doll in the air proudly for everyone to see.

Kit: Ooh she is so cool, hey come here baby girl auntie is going to miss you while she’s gone.

Kit picked Angie up bouncing her up and down causing the girl to giggle. Everyone said their good byes to Angie and Melvin as they started loading into Bette and Tina’s SUV since it was big enough for everyone and all their luggage.

Bette: Bye honey be good okay.

Angelica nodded her head half listening to Bette and playing with her doll. Tina kneeled down to hug her daughter then placing small kisses all over her cheeks.

Tina: I love you sweetie, mommy so sorry you can’t go.

Angelica: That’s okay mommy, see ya later!

Angelica broke away from her mother and ran back over to the couch to play with her dolls and the things Melvin bought her to go with it.

Bette: Ok daddy you have everyone numbers right just in case.

Melvin: Yes sweetheart, now go on and have a good time.

Bette: Okay see you…bye Angie.

Angie waved without looking up causing Bette to pout going out the door. Tina noticed the look once they got into the car.

Tina: What’s with the face?

Bette: She wouldn’t even look at me.

Tina started laughing.

Tina: Told you.

Alice: Hey granny are you going to step on it or what?

Bette: Alice do you want me to throw your ass out the car right here?

And they drove off with the trip starting the way it always does, with Bette and Alice back and forth banter which after a while begins to annoy everyone in the car.

The suns is bright…it’s going to be a beautiful day people or so they think.
